Agreed. Gabby, Kopitar and Doughty will do well because the can score and play at the other end. Lines who are all Cherry Pickers are not going to be sucessful. I'm hoping this Kings will also have a advantage with Quick in net as he is a reaction type goal tender which I think will be better than big guy who just plays position. I feel like everyone is not fully contenplating the advantage of having a great goalie. Heck 3-3 can't be any worse than the shoot out was for the Kings last year.

I also think Benn / Seguin as well as Perry / Getz (as much as it pains me to say) will be very effective.

I like LA with Doughty and two forwards. I am partial to Kopitar and Carter but they can do a lot and Doughty can eat up huge minutes. Pens look great as they can throw out two centers (Letang, Crosby and Malkin are hard to beat). Chi obviously. Toews two way ability makes him a threat and allows them to only need Keith with Kane. Mon has tons of choices with Markov and Subban. Blues are also great as they can run two lines with 4 strong dmen or 3 and 3 forwards. As for less obvious. I like Van with the Sedins + a d (choices). Cal might surprise people with Monohan or even Bennett becoming more prominent this year. Maybe even Nash as they need little if Jones improves and plays beside Weber. Then they can pick any forward at will.

I'm not sure bout 3 on 3
Seems a bit gimmicky
What are they gonna do next? Go 2 on 2 and take out the blue line for OT?

They may need to implement the "David Leggio Rule" so if a goalie is facing a 3 on 0 he doesn't just knock the net off and take his chances on a penalty shot. Maybe OT penalty shots should be 2 man

I hope they decide to make it 2 on 2, then 2 on 1 after 3 on 3, nothing gimmicky like the shootout.

Likely not he best but not too shabby. Don't laugh but you could put in Semin instead of Subban if you want to go all out and not worry about defense (considering Plekanec is there).

The team with the 2-3 best three man units. Shifts will be SHORT.

Also anyone with defensemen who can really skate and play both ways: Keith, Karlsson, Shattenkirk . . .

Speed and skill will rule 3 on 3. Tampa, Colorado, Pitts are the first that come to mind as teams that "should" rule 3 on 3.

EDIT: Obviously goaltenders will be huge in 3on3, but even moreso the ones who move great side to side will be even more key as with that much open ice cross-ice feeds will be widely used

For the Bolts the Triplets will be used by themselves as Cooper did this a few times last season with OT penalties leading to a 3 on 3. Hedman/Stamkos/Drouin? should be a 2nd line. Flip/Killorn/Stralman I would guess for 3rd OT line. All pure guesses of course

Meh, sort of. Lots of fast, skilled players with minimal interest in playing defense.

Speed, skill . . . and two-way ability.

Also, again, the shifts are gonna be really short, it's at the end of a long game, three on three will involve lots of skating.

So the teams with multiple solid units, preferably each with a good to great mobile defenseman, are going to be the best.

Bergy.....Toews.......Kopitar......Datz......

These guys are going to be dominate in three on three. Play them with a speedy skill guy on a wing and a solid two-way D-man and they will light it up.

Quebec city deserves a team..End of story..They have the fan base and now have the rink..NHL just doing right and giving it back to them..

Should have never been taken away given the effort they have put into keeping the Yotes in this league with 22 fans they have as the support..

True hockey fans on both sides of the border should support a team playing where there clearly a fan base for a sustainable hockey team..

Ignore that it's the East Canada thing and focus on the fact that the league wont have to constantly bail them out like the Yotes..

If u cant look at Quebec as being a good thing than u are not a true hockey fan..

I don't know why we are talking about Quebec but there are some smug fans forgetting that their teams were ever in danger. When Quebec left to Colorado take a look at the Flames attendance and the Oilers in the news having troubles finding an owner that could keep them. Flames didn't rebound until the bandwagon fans jumped back on during the cup run and Oilers needed to find a large group of owners as there was no "one" rich dude willing to buy them. It wasn't just Canada. Teams like Chicago and Pitts were having troubles as well.

As for Quebec. They should have the market. I don't think they did when the team left originally but I think they will rally like Winnepeg did. Advantage to Quebec for the new arena and more corporate sales potential. Still I don't think the Jets would have come back if their owner wasn't filthy rich.
