That was a heart breaker. Two nights before Emery shuts out the Flames 3 - 0 in Calgary. Then Dubnyk is unreal holding the Taylor Hall destined Oilers in the game until Potulny taps in that f'in goal with seconds left in the third.

I believe the Flyers were paying Bryz more to play in that game than Edmonton was

Haha! I think I read somewhere he's going to be getting a check from the Flyers until 2020 or something absurd.

At age 79, he'd still be an upgrade over most of their rotation.

I said to my Dad a few months ago that Koufax couldn't have been better than Pedro Martinez circa 1997-2000, and he just laughed at me.

Everyone I know that has seen Koufax, say he's hands down the best pitcher they've ever seen. And by a wide margin.

Yeah, I agree. My preference, if they don't trade him, would be:

Raffl-G-Jake
Read-Couturier-Schenn
Gagner-Laughton-Simmonds
Bellemare centering some combo of VDV, White and Umberger.

can Gagner play LW? has he ever played there?

My dad says the same. According to him, the only ones who even came close were Bob Gibson and Carlton during the '72 season.

Doubt he could look much worse than B Schenn or Simmonds looked on the left side last year so what do you really have to lose?

He would still be better than David Buchanan and Sean O'Sullivan, even at age 79.

He said he can.

http://www.csnphilly.com/...very-exciting-play-flyers

The Flyers have needs at left wing, as well as right wing. Gagner hasn't lived up to his pre-draft hype, but is a skilled forward. His openness to play any position is a positive.

If he stays and the Flyers want him to play wing, does it matter to him which side of the ice he'll play?

"It doesn't matter to me," he said. "There's some differences in terms of taking pucks off the wall in your own end, there's differences in the attack, but I've been able to adjust to both sides. It's really not a problem for me to adjust."

Did your Dad also tell you how high the pitching mound was when Koufax was king?

Pedro would have been even more unhittable if he was throwing from a 15 inch mound.

The Subway guy is not a sports guy.

He's skilled enough to play any forward position, but that doesn't mean he's gonna be effective there. I have a feeling he might be decent for us though.
