between Plekanec's contract, the situation with Galchenyuk and doing nothing in 3 years to upgrade the center position, Bergevin has put himself in a really bad position moving forward.

fair enough. just so long as you realize your top 2 centers will be DD and Eller, and Montreal will have the weakest group of centers in the NHL. not a recipe for contention in my view.

Galchenyuk may never make that jump. He was touted as a centre but it is starting to look like that is a dream. Does that fall on Bergevin, Therrien, Timmins, Lapointe? Not worth pointing fingers but it does make the team weaker in the short and long term. That becomes MB's problem to fix.
