At the very least he was a very cheap (basically the Flyers dumped salary) addtion who could be rejuvenated. At the very least, maybe he can be a place holder until Konecny is ready.

Sure you can...this is a world where both the Kardashians and sports wives are huge TV stars. That, my tin foil hatted friend, is two cases of the very least

From Mochoson:
One of the main reasons I want them to turn Schenn into a draft pick. There is plenty of young depth in the AHL should injuries mount. Between Marti, Ghost, Alt, Morin, and Hagg, we have plenty of prospects who could come up for cups of coffee.

Turn Luke into a 2nd rounder and call it a day. The cap space alone would help tremendously. Gudas can hopefully fill his shoes at a fraction of the cost, and is also a righty.

I just don't see any need for the Flyers to hold onto Luke Schenn. The fact that this is a contract year is all the more reason to move him; he won't be resigned. No reason to rush a move though. We're below the cap. Wait for a desperate team to come calling.

This is coming from someone who considers Luke a decent top-4 guy. He's a good player, just not needed anymore.

Agree 100%

Sounds like a rushed move to me. You call up players due to injury for Cups of Coffee. The fact it's a contract year is the best reason to keep him. He'll be working his hardest for a job at the best possible price he can get. Luke Schenn at his cap hit, which isn't a big deal, was better than Andrew MacDonald at his cap hit last season.

Yeah, I'd move AMac before Luke, but good luck finding a partner. Even without Luke, you'd still have Streit, Schultz, AMac, MDZ, Medvedev and Gudas as the top 6 and Manning as a more than sufficient #7, so, IMO, you might as well move Luke, if the return is worth it.

Even the most optimistic fan cannot see this club as more than a bubble team at best this season so what do you really have to lose? Heck it's very likely that none of their current Dmen with the possible exceptions of MDZ and to a lesser extent Gudas will still be here by the time they are a legit contender.

AMac isn't unmovable. Just don't expect to not take back any cap in return. There are teams that could use him on D. The Avs are a team that come to mind. Sharks too.

Agreed. I meant that he'd be very difficult to move with out some salary retention which I would prefer to avoid on a contract that still has 5 years to run.
