I have no idea how they will be. I suspect they will be a decent regular season team and I think JV and Prust will make them a tougher playoff team.

If we get our asses kicked we get a high draft pick , if they do good so be it.

Of course you are joking or think it's Tuesday...

Richardson was a chronic injury plague at this point...Bonino can't skate from one end to the other but yet Sutter has a 200' game...Matthias is soft and couldn't fight/play his way out of a wet paper bag and you think they are better options as they are cheaper and guaranteed to have the same seasons?

We are WAY deeper at center now other than the 4th line. Again Sutter and Horvat bring us so much more than Bonino/Richardson. They can have Hansen center Dorsett and Prust on the 4th line for all I care. We are moving forward and progressing which is the option. If you can't see it I can't help you.

- LordHumungous

Nothing you said makes sense. Richardson as a 4th line center injury plagued or not is better than vey. Bonino could have been an option on the wing. Once again depth. SUtter is not a physical player and is very comparable to Mathaias. Like I said Horvat would be playing center on this team with or without sutter...

Top 4 defender? We only have 3 of those Just really hoping benning doesnt F up and keep hamhuis and vrbata hoping to make the playoffs.
- mauryballstein

I'm well aware Only 3 proven top 6 forwards and 3 top 4 dmen combined with likely mediocre goaltending means that one significant injury to one of those 6 could sink this team until healthy unless a young player emerges.

You must have very high hopes for sutter. I do not. He is a third liner.

Well he may not have a choice with Hamhuis, and I wouldn't be opposed to re-signing him at a hometown discount. He certainly could fill a void and help teach younger Dmen a thing or two.

In all fairness JB is making changes. Thats what I wanted its what everyone wanted. Is it perfect? No but he's doing the job its not like he has big bargaining chips to make big moves and the ones he's done its to early to say he's lost or won. Work is being done.

Really hoping we have an off year make some changes to free up cap space. Maybe we can sign a couple key free agents in the off season, and land a top 5 pick. Could maybe turn things around a little quicker if a couple young players emerge. Boeser looking very solid

They have to deal him at the deadline. We cant afford to get nothing for him. I am all over signing him again in the off season.

And that's how it should be sold to him to get him to waive. Tell him that the team would be interested in re-signing him in the off season if the numbers work but the team needs the assets a trade deadline deal would provide.

Would be fantastic if he pulled a Vermette instead of trading him and overpaying some random UFA dman Benning likes.

Canucks are a team in transition with few assets to sell off. What are you expecting? There are going to be some hard years.
- VANTEL

I expect them to win the Stanley cup and pick first overall, and I expect them to do this every year. Anything else is just bad management.

My main reason for hating the Sutter deal. Especially to then resign him with a no trade clause

He has a NTC and he took a discount to sign in Vancouver. They may not have a choice.

IT would be nice if it works out that way, i'm just not sure they'll have that option.

You have to at least approach him with the idea of moving on for a couple months plus he gets the chance at a cup. Hope he goes for it.

Well we gotta say we appreciated JBs boldness in his moves in season 1. Now he's getting poop on for being the same.

Yes i agree work is being done not every situation is able to turn out well. But I do feel his signings are way too high.

Otherwise we'll see in the season how the moves pan out. And you never know, maybe more happens yet. So lets just see what happens.
Im more interested in which youngsters come on board and do well

I'm not as down on the deal as some. I think Sutter is a better over all fit for the team going forward.

However, I don't think Sutter is as gritty/tough as people would have you believe and I think it was an over payment.

Without getting into Richardson, Mathias etc, I will say that I would have done things a lot differently (wouldn't we all like to play GM lol) but I'd take Sutter over Bonino.

I hear ya. The d corps looks awful in my opinion. Probably the biggest reason why Hammer can't be moved.

I agree. However I wouldn't be surprised if a man like Hamhuis would not want to leave his family for several months.
