Trolls need something to work with...before they had Ian Esplen when the team was very good, then the goalie fiasco and now Benning.

The CHI blogs were full of hockey discussion amongst Blackhawks fans until the Kane news hit today. Because JJ is a good writer and the team is well managed.

I don't believe I have violated any rules. I'm usually discussing a hockey related topic or just joking around.

I would definitely ban those that ruin good debates/discussion though.

It also doesn't take into account crazy bounces and shots that change direction in ways not anticipated. It's why stats in team sports (that aren't baseball) never really can be good predictors of a players future production. Especially for goalies, who get blamed for soft goals, when a 'soft goal' might actually be the result of a combination of things that they can't control. So many factors go into scoring a goal and very little may be in a players control.

Exactly. Its also another reason why goalies can look like the suck on one team and are genius on another. AV hung luongo out to dry one many nights with his stupid ideas on team systems. Only a matter of time before fans in ny come calling for lundqvists head. You saw already how flustered he is in the playoffs.

Then compare with rask. Guy got booed off 2 teams.....now in boston hes a genius. Ive seen enough boston games to analyze the D....what they do is they plug the holes on the sides of the net and leave the center to rask. Its a wall, nothing gets through. Its how they beat pittsburg in the playoffs a few seasons ago. Go back and watch.

You take rask off boston and watch his stats do a nose dive. Everyone will be saying hes finished blah blah, boston knew to dump him blah blah. Reality is he wasnt any different just boston coaching staff knew how to use hi and the D together.

So no stats dont mean poop with goalies....unless you compare them on the exact same team in the same year. The yes they would provided the team knew him well enough to protect him.

Yeah, I'm not 100% convinced that Prust gets flipped for a pick at the TDL if this team even still has a shot at 8th place or is somehow sitting in a playoff spot. I could even see him getting re-signed for a year or two if they move Higgins for a late round pick.

That's part of the reason, even when the team was good, there were always trolls that felt a need to bash the team, and in some (many) instances, we had our own trolls doing the same back.

Personally I think Carol blows JJ away in writing, and well managed is relative. Chicago sucked for many many years to acquire the talent they have today, Edmonton is on the same track, they're finally getting better management and coaching. A few more additions on D and goal, look out...then what, do we proclaim it was good management to suck for a decade, draft exceptionally well, bring in more experienced management and coaching.

And JJ's blogs were monitored...any perceived trolling was dealt with right away, wonder how many bans were given to dshiddy in there.

We're simply discussing the most recent move, what's tiring is that the majority of trades and signings appear to favour the opposing team(value-wise). If it was even a 50-50 sort of thing where every 2nd move looks like a good one and makes sense methodically then the "whining" would be more spread out and less tiring.

Well lets cheer for him and hope hes all that. Definately potential there. I believe game 2 for him on canucks was a shutout this past season.
