Yeah, but he probably has to get into the family business soon and drop out of hockey altogether...at least the playing part.

For some reason I can envision more than a few welts on opposing shins....probably the shins of your own team mates too. - just for fun.

A week before signing his deal with the Leafs, Johnson told Swedish media he plans on staying in Sweden for the 2015-16 campaign and confirmed that Friday. Johnson knows he has to continue to develop on and off the ice and he said via his team’s website that he feels it will be positive for him to remain with Frolunda for another year.

Right on,

Good catch as I had hope he would come to the Marlies this season, perhaps half way through the season he comes over like Nylander did last year.

Yeah, I didn't see that...but not sure I completely liked it either.

He actually gave the puck away at the end. It was funny watching him play. Honestly it's the only game I've watched him play in it's entirety, but he was a class above in terms of hands amd vision. Problem was, at times, and it's not his fault it almost looked like he was taking the piss.

This is my concern when he goes back to junior. Hopefully he won't pick up bad habits. AHL wouldbe the best for him, but thems the breaks

I think it would be best for the NHL and for the players to be able to play in the AHL after they are drafted, regardless of age.

It's not nearly as much a so called 'goon' league as before with lots of quality prospects playing.

Leafs rebuild could be quicker than ppl think. IF they finish bottom 3, they will land with another key piece for their future...on top of what they currently have in their system. Not to Mention M.Rielly being a Huge piece to Leafs future:

TOP 12 LEAFS PROSPECTS:

12. R. Valiev 20 - Defence
11. C. Verhaeghe 19 - Centre
10. F. Gauthier 20 - Centre
9. S. Harrington 22 - Defense
8. S. Percy 22 - Defense
7. J. Bracco 18 - Winger
6. C. Brown 21 - Winger
5. A. Johnson 20 - Winger
4. T. Dermott 18 - Defense
3. K. Kapanen 19 - Winger
2. W. Nylander - 19 - Centre
1. M. Marner - 18 - Winger/Centre

Wouldn't put Dermott or Johnson ahead of Brown at this point also Leipsic should be there ahead of Verhaeghe and Valiev. But either way solid starting point. Even if you extend it to a top 15 still looks relatively solid with Timashov Loov Granberg.

Yzerman said the same about the AHL and Jonathan Drouin two years ago. Not likely to change anytime soon.

That wouldn't be good for the chl and Canadian minor hockey. All of these teams rely on that development money they get from NHL team and minor hockey also gets money from chl teams when they draft their players. Not to mention ticket sales to see the best players outside of the NHL.

Without those players broadcasting interest decreases and sponsors like under armor lose interest. That hurts the players allowance, even though most guys don't get paid much I doubt they would be interested in taking less. You end up with less CHL teams and less opportunity for kids to play the game at a high level. Hockey is a very expensive sport as it is. Could end up seeing a lot of parents not willing to pay for extra coaching and training knowing their kid will have less opportunities to succeed.

It could also lead to more Canadian kids going the college route in the states. I watched enough NCAA hockey to know that's not the style of game I want to see in the NHL.

Solid read.

I agree on the Bernier deal. Definitely want to ensure he's worth a bigger contract.
