New head scout, based out of the USHL. Expect more Americans to be picked, which is actually a good thing imo, their program will eventually catch Canada's and some teams will be slow to adjust their rankings accordingly(knowing the NHL).

Mediocre deal for a mediocre player. 4.3m is quite a bit to pay a 3rd line center, which will happen if not this season, certainly by the next. Then again, look what our 4th liners are earning.

Benning might be doing ok with not handing out NTCs but what Benning does well in one respect he fails to impress in the other.

I bet he gets 1st unit PP mins with the Sedins and gets plunked right in front of the net. I don't think 25 goals is out of the question if the coaches use him properly. As long as we get 110-120 goals out of him the net 6 years, I can't complain.

What do you think a pending UFA 25 goal scorer would make on the open market? Given there isn't and NMC I'm very pleased with this signing

Sutter isn't the type to play in front of the net; more likely to float around the perimeter on the PP and look for a soft spot for a shot or pass.

I would caution that the weather can be pretty lousy in October/ November. Also, you mentioned you snowboard and Whistler doesn't open until American Thanksgiving.

My idea of lousy weather is 110f for three months on end. The temp in my car when I get in it, is about 145f (62.7 C) A lot of rain, fog and slush would do me some good at this point, totally.
And snowboarding sounds good, but I just started a company. I'm thinking two to three grand USD is about what I can spend, so will probably drive to Whistler for the view, but board rentals, etc is out.

We've had a lifetime of watching those guys on the PP. It hasn't been memorable viewing.
