Trade Bernier and a Reimer poop season would get us farther ahead, if we're tanking.
|
|
|
|
Bernier would likely do better behind a team that competes, last year wouldn't have been fair for any goalie behind the Leafs.
If they're expected to be low in the standings, trade Bernier for assets, go with Reimer.
If Reimer sorts out that terrible glove hand, he will be dynamite, the rest of his game looked good last few seasons. He deserves another shot.

Starting goalies get 4.5 mil+. If the arbitrator thinks he's a starting goalie, he'll get that. |

No market for goalies right now.
But one of bernier and/or Reimer should go. |

You think so?
I mean, provided we don't pay an arm and a leg for Bernier, I don't see why we can't keep them both
Both sides of the argument:
1. We want to tank: Keeping 2 goalies who couldn't get it done is the best option
2. We don't want to tank (but are ok with losing as long as it isn't intentional): Giving Bernier an opportunity to bounce back under Babcock's systems is the best option.
Just don't see the benefit if the goalie market is crap. |
