For what it's worth:

Had dinner on the weekend with a WBS Penguin player who was on the roster last season - he is of the opinion that Harrington will have a long "top-4" d-man NHL career and provide a ton of leadership - not to be pigeon-holed into a purely shutdown d-man either...has some good puck skills and can contribute effectively on special teams.

While he had limited time with Kapanen, he says his skill level is off the charts and with at least 1, likely 2 full AHL seasons under his belt he'll be a legit top-6 sniper at the NHL level. Fast, works hard and is strong...by that timeline he'll be 20 in his first season as a Leaf if they are patient.

Bernier does not have two years of RFA eligibility left, this is his final season. If he's signed to a one-year, he's UFA next summer.

Frankly if it was otherwise he'd already have been signed to a one-year ala Kadri.

can't sign him for 1 yr. too risky. He could go lights out then walk for nothing. goalies have no value at TDD

I hope they can turn into some quality players. What I do find incredibly amusing is the amount of lube Pens fans used to immediately slide them down their prospect depth chart the minute they were traded.
