If we're on Baseball talk.. Who was everybody's favorite player while growing up???
Mine would have to be Frank thomas and Griffey Jr... Jim Abbot was also fun to watch. My dad only had one arm a well so it was always interesting to watch him play.

May not even have to give up that much as he's been up and down between AHL/NHL this year. I'd like to see what he can do with pysyk or Risto.

If I'm looking at this right, it appears he only signed a 1 year contract with Dallas and that was less than his ELC. i'd take him and yes, we wouldn't have to give up much. He's been up and down there. He's a big body as well and shoots left. It can't hurt.

Buy low, give him the ice time and see what happens. I'll give timmy a call and get this rolling

Early on (I'm 43), it was Dave Righetti. Later, into adulthood, Tino Martinez.

Let's talk Franson. I've ignored hm for the most part because he's righthanded and Oduya seemed a better fit. Key takeaways:

Gets about double the points Oduya gets
Big, 6'5" and had twice the hits Oduya had last year
Plays tons of minutes on the PP and PK
Psyck said he mostly player the left side in Rochester last year and supposedly Risto can play left, so maybe this RHD/LHD thing isn't so vital
Be was looking for north of 5/yr but maybe settle for what JO got now??

What's the hate for him due to??

I think Pysyk can definitely convert to the left side. His ability to make that breakout pass and his skating ability alone could work on the left. I don't hate Franson but I think the focus was on a LH D man and probably still is. A trade for a young LD might be the focus but I think Murray is pretty much stuck and won't do anything till Sept imo.

Maybe Murray waits till camp and sees what LD goes on waivers throughout the league.

There were a number of Red Sox players I loved as a kid- Aparacio, Petrocelli, George Scott. But I really enjoyed watching Fisk, Yaz and Dwight Evans and a bit later on Jim Rice and Fred Lynn.

What he wants and gets may be two totally different things. Wouldn't mind 3 for $12 for him or 1 and $5 (could trade him at the deadline if we are out of the playoff chase)

He's not a bad D man, looked lost with the Preds but still a good PP guy.

We need a PP guy bad and he would fit the offensive role.

A PP special teams coach with some imagination could do wonders too.

there's really nothing to write about. Plus, I like the fact that he get's 80-million pages of comments vs. Barf's 8-12 comments per post.

If so. That's probably why he is still out there.
