Is he a FA? Would he sign here again?
- Buffalo--Sabres

He won't come back here - rumored to be signing a cap friendly deal with CHI soon

The bleacher report that somebody posted this morning about JO eases the pain a bit. His possession #s etc in the regular season last year were pedestrian. Granted, he had a great post season, but, his D partner had a lot to do with that.

We'll be fine, there are still moves to be made

- turbo044

I said it before that Oduya was a product of how good the Hawks are and some folks on here disagreed with me and that's fine.

No one called anything. Literally the only person that has ever called something before it happened in here is Homer.

Oduya isn't the be all, end all. I still have full faith that Murray will get something done with the D. We have too many forwards, a trade will be made, just a matter of when.
- bobmack13

Late last night we wet talking about how trading McNabb & Zadorov opened some holes on defense
Obv Murray likes Oreilly (so do I), and sees Fasching as a part of our future (I'm not high on Fasching, his skating needs A LOT of work)
For me,
It's frustrating that with so little depth on defense he hasn't shown a plan to fill in the gaps here
But we also have to remember,
We aren't a Cup team right NOW
Murray doesn't need to rush to fill those holes
He's already made quite a few BIG moves since he got here... More than any other team
So let's give him some more time to round out the roster

I'd rather he wait till late this summer, or the deadline, or even next year...
As long as it means we are getting the right guy & it's the right deal

I agree with you, not upset in the slightest that he didn't chose here.

I wish I could be a fly on the wall in Murray's office right now. I have no idea what his next move is going to be. The beady-eyed mastermind

I've never seen you explicitly outline a trade and say wait 10 minutes and it will happen. Homer used to do that with regularity.

And sabres 39. Called tallinder and kane trade. All the others who claim to be insiders say 5 players who have been rumored for years to come here and when one happens they "called it" lol. Embarrassing really.

Not for nothing but Oduya was a -5 in the playoffs, and wasn't even top pairing. No huge loss, better options will be available via trade.

Sorry Garth didn't call the ROR deal before I did and Garth was back and fourth if the Sabres were going to get him.
- SABRES 89

if you say so! I just recall Garth mentioning 1+ year ago the Sabres made an Inquiry on ROR per his "source". I honestly don't care, but I hate how people on this site claim they "said" something first. Who gives a poop! Do you get some kind of medal for "reporting" something first?

Spurned twice by two "watches" over overrated NHL player/coaches. Same old Buffalo it seems have to trade to get what we want.
- bluengold12

We are still the 30th place team
Haven't started WINNING yet
Don't worry, it'll come...
But give it a little time

I find it funny that when someone has a source, suddenly everyone acts like that person and the source work for them and owe them accurate up to date information. It's second hand leaked info, it is what it is.

Those other goalies that got moved were very different circumstances. Lehner is still under contract for 2 years and is a RFA at the end of his current deal. Talbot and Lack are both UFAs. So you would have rather given up assets for a guy that could walk at the end of the year instead of giving up assets for a guy that's going to be around longer than that?
- HonkFortheGoose

We did it with O'Reilly
It's a fair point to say we have up too much for Lehner
A 1st for a guy that struggled last year is overpayment
Plus we took Legwand back too
I wouldn't say I'm pissed about the trade,
But I do think we def overpaid
