Per John Shannon:

Oduya has indeed signed a contract with a team. Will be announced at 11 et.

Dallas?

Buffalo?

Stay tuned.

- Zeebadaboodee

I'm guessing it's not us. Does anyone have potential pairings right now with and without Oduya?

The Dallas Stars have signed defenceman Johnny Oduya to a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $3.75 million.

- jochfr

He obviously wants to play for a contender and who could forget Dallas's run in the playoffs last year...

He turned down a deal from the Sabres on FA Day at 5 mill or close to it, why Murray kept going is beyond me.

3 years $15m from BUG, 2 years $7.5m from DAL (both rumored) - that's a lot of $$ to give up. Feels like Shane Doan V2, and that turned out all right for BUF

Spurned twice by two "watches" over overrated NHL player/coaches. Same old Buffalo it seems have to trade to get what we want.

I am not saying anything about Lehner.
Heck, I hope he turns out to be better than Hasek.
However, based on what other goalies end up going for, I would say he got fleeced.

- Sabresfan88

Those other goalies that got moved were very different circumstances. Lehner is still under contract for 2 years and is a RFA at the end of his current deal. Talbot and Lack are both UFAs. So you would have rather given up assets for a guy that could walk at the end of the year instead of giving up assets for a guy that's going to be around longer than that?

Two guesses
1 He doesn't want to deal any more assets
2 He saw the rest of the free agent crop

You didn't have to deal assets for Oduya and Murray has said before that he wants players that want to be here well, he offered Oduya a deal and he turned it down. Why keep going.

The bleacher report that somebody posted this morning about JO eases the pain a bit. His possession #s etc in the regular season last year were pedestrian. Granted, he had a great post season, but, his D partner had a lot to do with that.

We'll be fine, there are still moves to be made

Sorry Garth didn't call the ROR deal before I did and Garth was back and fourth if the Sabres were going to get him.
