Catenacci can still be a "Danny Paille" type
IMO, that was gonna be his ceiling, maybe 3rd liner BC of his speed & scoring ability
He's not a busy by any means yet
Big year for him in Rochester though. Last year was a nice step, but now he's gotta take a leap or else he's gonna get passed by some of these other young guys we have coming up

Btw...
I'm NOT trading Bailey if I'm Murray
I was on the fence when we picked him BC of his skating... But this kid has REALLY improved that aspect to the point that he was one of the best skaters at Developemental Camp. I was shocked.
Fasching on the other hand...
Let's just say he makes Luke Adam look nimble

Lets look at my players that everyone overlooked ..

Players i wanted in 2013 draft 1st round ..

Jonathan Drouin !!!!!!!!!!!!!Ryan Pulock ,Sean Monahan , Curtis Lazar , Hunter Shinkaruk

I wanted Sean Monahan so (frank)ing bad .. My 2nd was Lazar and i wanted Shinkaruk

others wanted Anthony Mantha or Kerby Rychel

2nd round

Adam Erne, Nicolas Petan ,Tristan Jarry, Zachary Fucale , Steven Santini

Players i wanted 2012
Galchenyuk, Trouba, Forsberg, Grigorenko , Girgensons , Hertl, Teravainen, Ceci

I wanted us to draft Girgensons.... everyone said Tom Wilson and Brendan Gaunce

- GERBE!!!75PTS

Still pissed we passed on Santini
I didn't like that Hurley choice over him
Big fan of tht draft in general though
Imagine if the Caps took Grigorenko and we got Forsberg?!

Foligno reminds me of Gaustad in that when he's playing "banged up" he just isn't effective BC he no longer can use that physical part of his game that gives him an edge...
His biggest issue will be learning how to stay healthy so that he can be effective

- jdfitz77

I said this not even 2 days ago. He is Gaustad but a winger, therefore, not even as valuable as Gaustad. Faceoffs are king.

This year will up the value of a lot of players imo. No more tank mode. They are older and more talented . Give it till turkey day.

I wasn't really trying to compare the 2
Just saying that Foligno loses his effectiveness when he's hurt & can't play physical

Not comparable in style or as players, but in their role on the team, the inconsistencies, and some people's unabashed love for him. I honestly tought Gaustad was a waste of a roster spot if it weren't for him being an ace on faceoffs. Foligno needs to find a niche this year if he is to stay for the coming years. He needs to become a solid PK guy, score some goals, stand in front of the net, god do anything. The kid is never in the right spot and he watches the play happen too much while drifting. He needs to hustle more.

He played pretty good when he came back. Even Hodge looked decent the last couple games . Yet no one could score . By design ? maybe . but a few players played their asses off. Was good to see.
- cabin

I agree
Foligno is gonna have to fight for his playing time now though, whereas before, it was handed to him in many ways

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Cody have a good year (18ish goals) if he gets decent minutes
I was saying to keep him

He's certainly young & inconsistent...
But when he's healthy, his physical play is not only noticeable, it's pretty effective
It just hasn't gotten too many statistical results over the past season or 2 for obv reasons
But he's not the waste u make him out to be
Murray mentioned him more than once as being a part of who we were gonna build around
And for good reason
Maybe that only means that he'll be one of the best 4th liners in the league?
Or maybe another GM likes him too & demands him in a trade?
Only time will tell

I think we can agree that this year is gonna be a big one for him
If he doesn't look like he can outperform McGinn, then we should just re-sign him & trade Foligno

Doesn't really matter now anyways

I just hate seeing us give away guys for nothing that could potentially get us a return
Ever since that Briere/Drury fiasco... Ugh

Well we left all the eval to you regarding the draft kids. Some of your love fest would get into scary ground

You don't have a good record but so do some of the pro scouts out there.

i'm 100% sure McGinn will outperform him Diamond in the Rough IMO loved him with the sharks he was starting to come on
