Comparing him to Rivet is insulting quite frankly. Rivet was lazy and played terribly defensively and didn't want to be here. Gorges is a team player all guts no nonsense guy who doesn't score points but doesn't need to. Sure the deals might work out to be bad but the fact that everyone is read to give up on a player because of an injury and watching him play injured on one of the worst teams in hockey history is ridiculous to me... Not saying the guy is or should be a top pairing guy. I mean that's obvious... But he can be a nice 4th or 5th guy on this team and not make any mental mistakes while sacrificing his body for the team.

It all depends on term for me. I'm not worried about $ if it's shorter term. I'm a little worried we bring him in for 4+ years though, which even at a lower rate would be bad IMO.

Gorges problem was he was playing as a #2 with Myers on a pathetic team.

All the pressure was on them constantly. He can be a fine #5 if he recovers. Those injuries are no joke

I feel Reinhart could have a really good year. With the drafting of Eichel I feel the pressure has gone away a little. I feel he could be an under the radar star for us this year.
