Thinking the same . Nobody filed for arbitration so just a matter of numbers . Nobody really stands out other than Larsson.

I think Varone was the only one that did and he's already done so they're in good shape at this point.

I think TM gets his man.

JO would bring great experience from a great organization.

Great guy to stay at home and let Risto work on his offense for the next three years.

1) Top pair d do not seem to be available

2) We need a left-handed d

3) Rather not give up prospects to get a bottom-4 d

4) Money is no object over the next 3 years.

Why not get the best d that fit's the description? If not JO, then whom?

4 years or more could be tricky because if he doesn't retire and you can't move him you're stuck with his cap hit while you try to re-sign Kane, Eichel and Reinhart

$5 million in year 4 won't kill us but I would be happier with a 3 year $18 million than a 4 year $20 million

In the fourth year specifically it might. that's probably going to be the peak of our first cup window where we're spending on FA and our own top guys.

4 years for Oduya is not very smart IMO but Murray seems focused on him.

I'll guess a hefty signing bonus and a NTC to boot.

But we don't know what the cap will be then. Heck, it could be $75M or more.

He looked pretty brutal in the playoffs. I'd say he'd look pretty good at 14 minutes a night at most but he's making a lot of coin.

The only good thing is we don't have to part with any other prospects and he is a stay at home D man.

But that will also mean the higher end guys are going to want more per year. Im not saying it definitely will or won't but it's something to consider. We just witnessed a pretty bad off-season as far as cap management goes, these kinds of signings are usually what lead to it.
