I would argue im a realist. The article on ESPN said the moves this offseason would give them 4 or 5 more wins. Let's double that and it's still only 15 to 20 more points in the standings....still in the bottom 3rd of the league....

Got hit by a drunk driver in sc earlier this year. He tried to flee but didn't succed. He got dui first offense, no hit and run. 6 months suspended license and has to complete some courses. Thats it and he wasnt even a pro athlete. Ror will be fine I'm sure.

And right now their is no proof how hard he even hit this Tim Hortons, he could have just scraped against it going through the drive thru, bumped into one of the parking lot poles, or just jumped the curb a bit and barely touched the building. I think if his car went through the building or there was serious damage this would have been found out the day after, not the week after. There is just no way to know how hard he actually hit this Tim Hortons as of now. Any word on who this mystery second passenger was?? Maybe they were high on some of GMTM's mushrooms.

As the only one apart of this conversation who can legally drink I think I do. He hit a building, probably nicked it. And ran off. It was stupid and idiotic. But not let's get the witch hunt out and burn him at the damn stake. If I worked as a high profile doctor and did the same thing. I'd likely get a massive fine and no more license and probably a lot of community service. But my work wouldn't fire or fine me..

Thanks for the info. As for border crossing problem I doubt he will have any. He has that Pegula money now to buy a lawyer to wipe any felony(if there is one) off his record.

I agree, I doubt border crossing will be an issue for him even if he is convicted. As for the money, I am not sure if that would help with him not getting convicted. I definitely could see him still be convicted but not have to do any jail time.

The real question will be, what will the NHL do? If he isn't convicted I don't see the NHL doing anything. The big concern would be if he is convicted and doesn't get jail time, what does the NHL do? Some are already worried about the NHL suspending him. For some reason I don't think they suspend him. Instead I think they spin it around put some type of positive outlook on it and force him into a drug & alcohol treatment program in some facility. By law it would be mandatory he does some type of treatment so I could see the NHL spinning it like that.

Yeah and he hit you which is far worse. I know he "Could've" hit someone but he didn't. Lets cut the crud here. He could have done a lot of things that night right or wrong. I was hearing earlier that all the facts were not really published. It was dark, apparently he didn't know it was a kid at first, APPARENTLY. He also was apparently taunted and provoked by these kids, as well as threatened, and apparently these kids had actually stolen some of his property and would not return it to him. does anyone know the age of these "kids"? Because 17 y/o is still a kid... I know some 13 y/o's that look 25... I mean in some places there is a stand your ground law where if somebody is in/on your property and attempting to commit a theft, assault, etc... you actually have legal grounds to shoot the person, regardless of age, and I don't see how this is too different than that if these kids were really the punks who stole his property like I'm hearing... I think he knew he made a mistake afterwards which is why he threatened them if they went to police.
