At this point it is Sharp + +... A couple of very good prospects would be the hook. - Al
the flyers still dont have the cap room to do it without giving salary back. a dman or 2 will still probably be moved before the season starts which will clear some space, but 5.9 coming onto the books puts them right back into a hole. |

I will go with what you are saying but site I saw had 24 guys signed.
Question is would the Flyers want to make it work?

in my opinion, i doubt it. it might solve the left wing issue for the time being, but isnt really a long term fix, so i dont think theyd want to waste assets on bringing in a guy like sharp. |

Def possible bc he's been misused by my tard coach, a better coach will know how to use him better, plus he's a good PK.
Oh forgot to mention, 1 of the fastest players in league......
edit: also grabner has a good shot, just doesn't use it often. - Ur Not Me
Sharp could take over as player/coach in NY? Certainly better than Capuano.
Just framed my signed 31 jersey. Going up next to Hull in the man cave. The only non Chicago jersey on the wall. Thomas and Jordan on the other wall. |

And that site has Toews net worth at $5.4m - probably off by a lot. Those net worth sites are garbage. The only way to determine an accurate net worth would violate financial privacy regs unless the target was subject to some form of reporting/disclosure requirement - like a politician - or actually was willing to discuss how much he is worth.
Players pay serious taxes and have to deal with items like escrow. Safe to assume though that take home is probably 40-50% of gross. Most agents/advisers are keeping them out of stocks but it happens. I have heard there is a small group of players on the Hawks - including Hammer and Oduya - who have done very well in some kind of real estate trust. Property development in the city. Not sure if they would be allowed to work with Wirtz but that is a very large area of interest for Wirtz. Obviously, Reinsdorf as well. - tredbrta
Definitely not allowed to work with Wirtz on outside developments while on team payroll. That would be a humongous cap violation (among other things) and the other owners would flip out.

There was an amazing Sports Illustrated article that outlined several players financial demises and poor investments. My favorite was the football player that invested I think over $500k in furniture that had inflatables attached to them incase a house was flooded the furniture would be salvaged. - nurk
I'm behind in my reading here, so forgive me if this sentiment hasn't already been added...
The above reminds me of a quote from Warren Buffett, which goes something along the lines of... "When someone with experience proposes a deal to someone with money, often the person with experience ends up with the money and the person with the money ends up with the experience." |

thats why i prefaced it with "im not sure how accurate these sites are" - SaskHawkFan
Saw that. No offense. Agreeing with you.
Obviously, spending habits are subjective. Oduya could be a great saver and have a very solid investment adviser. Could very, very easily have a net worth approaching 75% of earnings for his career.
Harry Reid's net worth tripled during the financial crisis. Just saying... |
