Well now they are both Blackhawks so I'm sure they will elevate their game and become perennial all stars. I just hope Toews can talk to them both and get them to be team players

If they both stay. Two huge losses, sharp stays in division and lose johns, however in stan we trust

doubt it. Pokka is an offense only guy. Johns has size and a two way game. Pokka is a smurf for a D-man.

Agreed on Johns. Means Hawks see TVR is a vital part on the D group now. Now the question.. is JO no longer in the plans?
- z1990z

No this means he is.

I'm very unhappy with losing johns. Did the Hawks see something that capped his potential? If he only ends up as a physical #5 then Hawks win the deal. If he is a physical and decent offensive contributor as a 3/4 D then that would be disappointing...he's big and mean

I know. I know. We have to trust Stan but he is really testing me. He's got to have something else in play. Do you think we can flip Daley and bickell and maybe get Taylor Hall?

Seemed to be injured a lot. But I hate having them in the division...

Look at it this way, if the Hawks sign Oduya, then that will mean that Daley is basically replacing Rundblad. sounds good to me.

How can we afford to pay a bottom pairing d-man 3.3M?

Ok, we differ on opinion on this, lets revisit convo in the season.
Also maybe Daley could get flipped?

If Garbutt's $1.8m retained by Dal, there's Kruger's contract.....

- Ur Not Me

If 50% can be buried. Daley easier to trade? Ugh, hate losing Johns. If this is what you get for Sharp, Bickell and Versteeg are here to stay.

No he's not, he's more of a defensive dman, he was known as being a solid player in his own end, that isles hoped he would develop offense down the road.
But I don't know his numbers in the AHL.

This was a fantastic deal. This now gives us the money to resign Oduya (since Dal is eating some of the contract) and Daley will now slide into our #5. That is as good of a top 5 as we have had since 2010.

Garbutt is a beast at what he does. He and Roussel made up the 2nd best 4th line in hockey (right behind the islanders). Think an andrew shaw type game with more speed and a bit more touch. He brings exactly what this team needs. MOre snarl but still fitting in with the style of play. Grit, snarl, bit of a scoring touch and blazing speed.

Losing johns is fine. He will be good, but hes not nearly as good as Pokka. ANyone who thinks otherwise, clearly has no grasp on prospects. This was all in all a fantastic deal for the hawks.

I've seen Pokka play, he's good on both ends. From the hockey news last year "Islanders draft pick, Pokka will likely come over to these shores soon. He was part of Finland’s devastating defensive stand at the world juniors, winning the nation a shocking gold medal in Sweden. But he has also been excellent at home, racking up a team-high plus-32 rating on the best squad in the Liiga. Pokka, 19, excels at both ends of the rink and put up 27 points in 54 games."

If #27 signs, great top 6. If hawks trim more, ehrhoff could be #6

Ya from what I saw of Gerbutt I hated him when he played us . And think we shed some money and gained true NHL players .Looks good to me ..

I'm beginning to think Oduya may be gone. Where is the cap space to resign him? We need a new blog too. Thin some of these trolls out

I agree with the thoughts on Garbutt. He makes an ideal fit for the bottom 6 energy whirling dervish type. He hits and that guy can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
