Definitely not allowed to work with Wirtz on outside developments while on team payroll. That would be a humongous cap violation (among other things) and the other owners would flip out.
- Sandus

Thanks. Thought so. Probably cannot work with partners of owners either so Reinsdorf may also be out.

Apparently it's so pathetic on the Flyers blog and no one wanting to talk about them that they feel they have to come over here and troll.

I guess the discussion about which #5 defenseman will skate in their top pair next year has run its course?

Catching up haven't read through all the comments yet but:

Sharp and Bickell for Emelin and Jacob De La Rose, we retain $1.5 mil of Bickell's salary. Versteeg should be easier to move, if I remember right he doesn't have either a NMC or NTC.

$9,400,000 - $5,025,000 = $4,375,000

$4,375,000 + $2,200,000 = $6,575,000

I also think we move Morin and Tropp, for pics or an AHL prospect.

$800,000 + $625,000 = $1,425,000

$1,425,000 + $6,575,000 = $7,900,000

Wow...when over 50% of humans on the planet live off of less than a $1 a day, and a child dies every 4 seconds from something other than natural causes, you can describe $23 million as not a lot, at least by NHL standards???

Wouldn't the natural response be something like, "thanks Johhny-O for putting things other than money at the top of your priorities?!?!" The expression "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" has been around for a long time for a reason. And there is MUCH more to life, and yes that includes one's work, than paper money that only has value because some guys in silk suits tell us that it does!

So thanks Johnny for staying in CHI, your transplanted home, winning Stanley Cups, being treated like royalty and being paid about $4 million dollars a year...you're one hell of a guy!

So you're just here to argue about what? Anything and everything, do you have any backing he doesn't or are you just assuming he doesn't, can't have it both ways sunshine.

If he was in need of money wouldn't of he signed some where already? I don't know kind of makes sense, at least to me it does

Well said.

These guys are just "Blackhawk bros" here to share their enthusiasm and affection for John and us band wagoners you know....

Oduya obviously wants to stay. For whatever reason that is his priority. Maybe it is his girlfriend or maybe he doesn't need more $$$. Maybe both. Hammer didn't. Why wouldn't JO?

If this number is Sharp at 5.9M and Bickell at 4M minus retention at 1.5M, that's only 8.4M. So your final number is $6.9M after shedding Versteeg, Morin and Tropp. Maybe Oduya and Kruger come in at less than $6.9M, but we're still over the cap by a couple of million. That means someone like Shaw is on his way out...

That one was easy to figure...Never saw that kid playing in the NHL. He got a gift from the Hawks and made big money in Rock City but across the pond is best for his career.

Nobody said anything about Oduya not wanting to stay or that there is anything wrong with him wanting to stay. People have said that others are overvaluing how much he banked from his $23 mil in NHL contracts
