A Redwing fan with a sound footing in reality. I congratulate you.

Now that the Wings are in the east - I'm almost over it.

- tredbrta

Thanks. I'm a fan of Turgeon and I have a feeling you guys would be as well. Good size and should end up being a respectable 3rd line center with 2nd line upside.

Hawks need more Finns!! Versteeg for Armia and Sharp for Pulkkinen and Smith.
- MjulQvist

Love it!

Leave Smith out and I'd still take it. Talk about offense. Pulkinnen is the shooter we can replace Sharp with. Panarin, Pulki, Dano... if they meet expectations... what a future.

Small as in DD's 3.5
- MTL1

If $3.5 has to come back - meaning cap relief of only $2.4 for Sharp - how do Oduya and Kruger get done without moving Crawford?

Great question...it remains a mystery.

If 8-9M not sure if the Hawks can keep him without a significant cap increase next year.

- ArlingtonRob

With the weaker Cdn $ and uncertain political landscape in Canada could be the first year that the cap stays the same or even regresses

Fans of hockey south of the border should be fighting the good fight in closing down failing US franchises and moving them back into Canada

Could buyout DD after getting him
Which would be a little over 1M a year
4.7m savings

Or Stan would just extend him to a 4.55 / yr deal?

Thank you. Haven't seen much of him. Appreciate the insight. Watched enough of Pulkinen and Bertuzzi to be impressed. Probably untouchable to Holland though. Sharp is a great fit for the Wings IMO.

Wouldn't it make more sense to move some US franchises to cities with a long history of fans of hockey? Like Seattle or Portland? If the CDN dollar falls anymore, moving more teams to Canada would be worse for HRR. Not that there wouldn't be much larger issues for our Canadian brothers to worry about.

The thing is with JJ he is not slinging monkey feces at a wall with everything he hears. He only slides things out that he has checked quite thoroughly (and yes some pans out some doesn't). But I appreciate his ability not to do what Ek does.

As far as Ek.. he just throws everything he hears at the wall and hopes something sticks.. I don't care about posting rumors, it's when you post everything you hear from some guy who posts on twitter to your most precious insider info. Do some checking like JJ does and vet some of the stuff. don't just sling everything out there.

- CaptainInsano

I think Ek should just drop the e5 nonsense, I don't doubt that he has sources and he just reports what he hears. Maybe some of it is made up, maybe it isn't. I guess it just looks bad since he does own the site and needs to drive clicks. If I was him I would probably just not even bother posting.

Send Morin to Boston. Pretty sure after seeing that contract for Hayes, the Hawks can get Pastrnak for him.

or morrow who seems to be a decent two way defensive prospect

As much as I like Pulkinnen (he killed the Hogs all season long), he's an RFA this summer. With the glut of forwards already here, does the organization need yet another body they have to worry about to pass through waivers to send to Rockford?

I'd be happy if the organization could pull Bertuzzi out of a trade with Detroit for Sharp.

believe the deadline for buying guys out already passed.

Which means putting him through waivers and only saving 925K off the cap.

won't work.

Be still my heart. PulkKinen seems to really be hitting his stride and with he and Panarin both at 23 and TT and Dano both at 20 - the prospects for young top-6 players would be looking very good.

If as you say JJ, that they can only move Sharp and Versteeg "they may need to trade Crawford" Can they not buyout Bickell, have an extra $3m this year and keep CC?
- Hawkeyes1

Buyouts are over aren't they? Thought the window ended June 30th

Still interested in sharp as an islanders fan, but I'm hoping if it does happen that snow can get him at a serious discount the longer this goes on.
