He's starting college hockey at 20?...Interesting. - Al
Liam Coughlin must have an interesting story...his journey has been circuitous to say the least.
I would think his final opportunity is presenting itself with this shot with the Catamounts.
Doesn't cost the Hawks much...they'll hold his rights and keep an eye on him. |

I'm pretty sure the BCHL offers scholarships to players who play through the end of their eligibility. Free college hockey is probably preferable to struggling through the EC or being scratched in the A. |

LeBrun of TSN/ESPN confirmed Wsh was interested in sharp and had talks prior to the oshie deal
But the first-round pick, an "A-level prospect" and a top-6 forward on an entry-level deal was too much
Lebrun didn't mention which players Chicago wanted from Washington - MTL1
I was wondering it's there anywhere I can go to see what teams Sharp said he'd be willing to be traded to?
Please be nice |

I believe his Ntc allows him to submit a list of 10 teams he would be willing to move to
According to Friedman, Sharp has a limited no-trade clause in his contract. In that clause it states that, if asked, Sharp would have to present a list of 10 teams to the general manager within 48 hours of being asked. |

This I know but where can I see this list, a reporter never gets his hands on this sheet is what I'm getting at, many fans like to blame the organization, I hope the Hawks from here on out stop handing out no trade clauses like their party favors this could be the undoing of the Hawks |

I believe that 10 team list is fluid as it could change from time to time
Here is what the sportsnet article had to say about his contract

So did Friedman provide us with which 10 teams he picked?

Bowman could ask for whatever but I have to believe Sharp's NTC and/or no movement clause really limits what Bowman can do with him or even Crawford for that matter, some say deals were in place but does that mean Sharp agreed with them, I'm sure they saw the Kesler deal last year and the Ducks really didn't give anybody up for him. The Hawks tried to trade for him but the only way that would work is if a salary went back the other way The only time the Hawks would have leverage would be prior to the trade dead line and considering how well they do their home work I find it very very very hard to believe if they had no salary coming back they would've made the deal. - BetweenTheDots
I agree but any deal that could have been made before or at the draft has not gotten better by waiting because there are now less suitors for him due to other teams acquiring other players and teams cap space shrinking as they construct their team, and most likely the potential return has gotten worse as the demand has become less. So a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and more than likely Stan will not even end up with a bird anywhere. I hope I'm wrong but I think Stan has botched this up and it is made more difficult to swallow because he didn't learn his lessen when he did the same thing last summer with Leddy.

It almost seems like that Stan has deals from teams that Sharp is not interested in going to. At least that would explain why moving Sharp has taken so long. I can't imagine that Stan is slow playing this, I'm sure he wanted this done yesterday. |

BCHL not a top tier junior program...So I'm not sure how common it is for kids coming out of there to get a ride to very good college program.

I agree with you if there was a deal then the Hawks screwed but isn't it plausible that Sharp could've picked teams that were right against the cap or even teams in the western conference who compete against us like the Blues and Wild.

So 6 teams that were right against the cap, now the Leafs are in a rebuild kind of looks like Bruins are as well
Then let's say he picked the Blues, Wild, Predators, Ducks or Kings
If These teams on Sharps list it makes it difficult for the Hawks to move them many of these teams can't afford to add$6 mil to their roster.

It's a 10 team list
There are only 14 teams in the west
You can knock off west teams that are not desirable locales or winning situations out the 13
I'm sure his list features a good share of eastern teams

BCHL is not major junior but it has produced players who have turned out to be significant NHL'ers - Jamie Benn and Kyle Turris are 2 of them. |

The amount of teams on the list varies-Sometimes 8 sometimes 10....I thknk Bickell has to give 8 teams.
NTC are here and will be staying around, normally when a players isn't in his last season the list doesn't prevent a deal all that often. A players has a way to come around to a team not on the list if he doesn't feel welcomed where he is at.
Brian Campbell loved Chicago-he met his wife here-But he was convinced to go to Florida....I think a trade rumor floated that Columbus wanted him may have helped sway him..plus the Tallon relationship.
Sharp is different-He's been here a long time and is respected by those that will be left behind and are the team leaders. Bowman, I'm sure wants to do the right thing, but at some point Sharp will relent and go where he is wanted....And where Bowman can deal him-Not many teams can afford Sharp. |
