Nilsson deal must have been in the works for a little bit as he's already signed a 1-year deal with EDM.
Wonder what the details on the deal are - surely a 2-way unless Oilers have something else up their sleeve. - TyCamScore
they likely guaranteed him a roster position. Or its a one way deal. |

A lot of beat writers just like to talk without knowing anything. Joe haggerty said it was 100% boychuk wouldn't sign with the isles. - Isles_since_6

Out of last years teams who made the PO's, who going to slide off that list?
Keep in mind, if healthy, CLB leaped frogged a bunch of teams (on paper) right now. - Ur Not Me
Pens. I'm not sold on their defense and one injury puts them in a world of hurt. |

I don't come on here and exchange insulting names and unlike you apparently, don't pay any attention to the colour of another fan's skin or what race likes hockey.
I've been in the building 4 or 5 times for Panther's games against various teams - it isn't an NHL experience comparatively speaking. They have plenty of good young players now, they need those kids to become playoffs contenders soon, not later. - RickJ
He was referencing a funny interview on WGN where a black man made that comment on live tv. Check it out. It was funny.
Don't think there was any malice in his comments. |

Putting Bickell on waivers and sending him down makes more sense. The Hawks top D prospect is not going to be moved...simply to move Bickell. - ArlingtonRob
Agreed Rob. Hawks have plenty of forward prospects to deal--and likely will before October; can't see dealing what they already don't have enough of--barring any other surprise moves, of course. |

I can tell you're the fun one in JJ's blog. I was quoting the guy all over social media after the Hawks won the cup this year and a news reporter asked the guy on the street about the Blackhawks and he said what I just wrote. Don't make this out to be more than it is.
These kids and team will take the next step this year I believe and getting Sharp would help. |

Hey Rob how much would they save with Bickell at the Rock - since they've changed the rules probably not a whole lot...maybe he wouldn't clear waivers...
Sale by the way has 4Ks here going into the bottom of the 5th... |

If it dies, it will probably be because Sharp wouldn't waive. He had a specific concern that Tallon likely would have had to get complete organizational buy-in to reassure Sharp on it. Guessing they wouldn't do it—if it is in fact dead. - John Jaeckel

I don't play that game. Teams underachieve all the time from year to year. All the Panthers need to win games and I saw a lot of good hockey being played by them against top teams. Another year, more confidence and they got rid of dead weight players as well. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so. |

To be honest...I don't know. But I do know the Hawks aren't using Johns as bait to find someone to take Bicks.
Sale won't be getting the record tonight...unless he pitches 11 innings. |

No, I was asked not to publicize it so I won't. Basically he wanted something very specific as far as an assurance about his future, that would require the approval of ALL of the team's management.
If I were one of their owners, looking at their roster, and what they need, I would do it. They really have nothing to lose.
But they may be gun-shy because people, like this Fialkov guy, were immediately drawing (stupid) comparisons with the money they wasted on Bolland. Unfortunately, NHL front offices can be very beholden to the stupidity of fans (and media).
Because, yes, I think, and have thought that Patrick Sharp would be a nice add for the Panthers. And I thought (and now I know) Dale Tallon did too.
We'll see, might not be dead. FL might be thinking about Sharp's condition. Or Sharp is thinking about something. if I hear it is dead, I will let you all know. |

Wow... the game plan for the off season is in shambles. Saad deal falls apart and is now a Jacket. 10 and 29 are still here and 27 and 16 need signed. And we still need to lose about 8 million with a shrinking market. And now we may have to move CC just to un screw this mess...
We did well getting AA and Dano, but damn we need to lose some money and fast.. |

They would save exactly $-0- - the $925,000 they would save on Bickell's contract would be offset by his ELC replacement in Chicago. |

Bowman got greedy with sharp
2 legitimate trade candidates are no longer - Wsh and Pit looked elsewhere pretty quickly
He should've been moved right away - 5.9 is a massive number
Look for contracts coming back and retention now to get him out the door |

We'll likely never know the details, but I'd luv to know the complete backstory of how this Sharp saga has played out...
What club's have been involved?
What players and picks have been involved?
What offers have been declined?
Each day this drags on...the more frustrating it becomes. |

I will agree - it is frustrating as a fan of hockey - who likes trades
I do believe that both WSH and PIT were involved
If this drags out past Friday I believe the few remaining teams will drop out and start looking elsewhere |

Bet it had something to do with dumping or not dumping him at trade deadline in each of the next two years or offseason, at least to some teams where he wouldn't want his family to live.
Either that or they would move him to a playoff team if they are out of it. |

I was blasted last week for posting essentially the same, I was told to trust Stan and if he has to he can get rid of these guys the day prior to the season like he did with Leddy.
My point was, if the plan was to diminish the return to a shrinking number of teams by holding on for too long, it is being executed masterfully.
