Speaking of Petty what a concert saw him with Bob Dylan, knew a little about Petty but became an instant fan saw him every time he came into town, good times from what I remember |

It seems to me the primary objective is to trade Sharp and/or Bickell and Versteeg - not get maximum return. If Stan get these trades done, then he will most likely not be able to re-sign Oduya and probably have to trade Kruger's rights. The return Stan hopes to get for Sharp could end up costing Oduya and Kruger and reduce the chances of repeating as Cup champs. Give Sharp away if that's what it takes and sweeten the Bickell/Versteeg trade with prospects and/or picks - do whatever it takes to meet the primary objective. Keep your eyes on the ball here and maximizing the return is not it. |

I believe that when a deal for Sharp is made it will be no where near of what bowman wanted
1st
Top 6 young player
High prospect
Wouldn't be surprised if it's like
1M salary retained
1-2M in salary coming back
2nd
Low - mid prospect - MTL1
If that's the case I hope Bowman trades him to a team that can knock the Habs out of a playoff spot. Nothing better than watching Michel Therrien scowl behind the bench and Hab fans calling for his immediate execution. |

Totally jealous. Can't imagine a show with Dylan and tom petty. What year was it??
On the topic of concerts, I was at the dead show on Friday and Saturday and it was unreal.

You may be right - John Jaeckel
Just to clarify - It could be a combo of contracts coming back/salary retention totalling in the range of 3-3.5M range
Bowman should pull the trigger soon or interested teams will move on from sharp and look at other ufas/trade options and bowman will be left holding the bag |

Sharp will end up going somewhere that hasn't been mentioned. Buffalo is my guess. They can slap the C on him. Put him next to Eichel. IIRC, they have a boatload of 2nd rounders next year. IMO, it would be a good fit. |

I get the distinct feeling that Montreal is waiting to see how the youth have developed before fully entertaining the idea of a trade. The role of a top 6 scoring winger may land with any of Hudon, Andrighetto or Scherback this upcoming season. |

Yeah, Detroit showing interest may be the sign that we are in the second wave of value for Sharp. Not as high as pre 7/1 but moving up as teams adjust after trades/signings or make changes as a result of what other teams in their division did. Hopefully we make a move during this phase, as value will drop again if moves are made without us and number of potential trade partners dwindles again. |

Which means that if the Sharp trade only trims a net $3M, then there is a whole bunch more that needs to be trimmed for any hope of re-signing Oduya.

I will be surprised if Bowman takes any players, that can't immediately be put in Rockford, or salary from a possible Sharp trade.

What UFA are left on the market that can bring to a team what Sharp can? There aren't any. Trades? Definitely possible. They would cost a team more assets than Sharp will though. |

Seeming more and more like Sharp isn't going anywhere. Don't know how that would work, but its just weird that he's not gone yet. - BlazinMike
not necessarily. there's no doubt a few teams interested so Bowman has all the motivation in the world to slow play this until the moment he has to act. there's nothing close to a Sharp on the UFA or trade market so he does have some leverage here. |

Buffalo has one second rounder (their own) and three third rounders next year (their pick, San Jose's OR Dallas' pick and St Louis). |

I believe he would if buffalo reached out to him too. Why wouldn't he? Its a team that is building toward something. He plays well and there is a chance of another contract. I even think number 10 is available. lol |
