Not at less than 80 cents on the dollar they won't. That is what i was pointing out. I have no idea but there was some mention of the CDN dropping even further.
- TTtime

TT as I have said ...the stall in the cap rising has been mostly because money spent in this Country hasn't increased. The currency implications are there but also helped the NHL a great deal from 2007 through 2013 or so. Unemployment has dropped in the past 2 yrs but expendable income hasn't shot up here. Sooner or later the other 23 teams have to chip in because it may be awhile till we see $100 a barrel oil.

Long time Hawk fan - a little too young to remember '61 (I was 7 and living in Wisconsin), but started following in the mid-60's when we moved back to Chicago. Good ole #16 was my favorite player (Chico - not Bobby). Followed through thick and thin. Finally discovered message boards in 2009 when a buddy at work told me about them - been addicted to them ever since.

Not many better ways to kill time at work

I'll throw out my best educated guess....

Sharp +McNeil for 2016 2nd, DeLaRose, Pateryn/Tinordi

Yes. We went last year and it's really cool to watch the practice games on Sunday morning.

We are going to go again this year but the hotels are already sold out in the South Bend area. Unless you want to spend $450....

- DMCsPulledHammy

Don't know how the ticketing for this works, but I was just looking to make the trip up for 1 day. I live in the Plainfield area so the drive is under 2 hours.

Which day is the best one to go to? Thanks for the feedback.

As much as I like Pulkinnen (he killed the Hogs all season long), he's an RFA this summer. With the glut of forwards already here, does the organization need yet another body they have to worry about to pass through waivers to send to Rockford?

I'd be happy if the organization could pull Bertuzzi out of a trade with Detroit for Sharp.

- EKolb13

Yes, avoiding that is important. Pulkinen would stick here though IMO. Going even younger isn't a bad idea though.

Think that's pretty close, but bet it will have to be Danault if you are getting DLR and Pateryn.

If its a 2nd going think it will just be DLR.

That's a good point - Pulkkinen is rather on the small side and since we already have a number of "not big" guys, we don't want to be Montreal from a couple years ago. But - dynamite player and will probably have a nice career.
- EbonyRaptor

If Pulkinen can be had I say let's go "full smurf". He looks like he has grown some anyways.

Yeah, he looked like a 10' Jari Kurri playing the Hogs...

If he fails a a physical (bad knees) in regards to a trade, then LTIR or some type of medical release I would think.
- z1990z

It would require shuffling but the better bet would be LTIR. Give him time to fully heal if possible and maybe he is there for the playoffs. Can trade him next year. Better than a buyout IMO.

Also, he is not a smurf.

Boston, Chicago, NYR and Philly really can't add much more though. Those places sell out and buy merchandise.

A couple of other smaller market teams such as CLB and Nash are pretty much tapped out too in terms of adding more revenue.

Its more like the bottom ten teams need to expand their fan bases.

Could be wrong, but for what its worth, i believe after JUNE 30, so long as a team or player file for arbitration it opens up buyout possibility for the player
- Trammelt

Wasn't sure just what I found...there was something regarding arbitration in the link tried to cut and paste but the website wouldn't let me pull it up...

someone else might have a better take on this...

Its all water under the bridge at this point. Hawks didn't file for arbitration with Kruger. Had to be done by 5 today. Or at least no one has reported they have.

Yes and the NHL to blossom needs to broaden its base from a handful of big market teams and those up North.

In many ways I think it already is. Look at where players are coming from these days. Look at the California teams and their growth. Its takes time, though.

The California teams growth can be attributed to their youth hockey programs growing. Each team has put a LOT of money into the youth hockey program and are now being rewarded for it. It also doesn't hurt that the SoCal area has won three SC's since 2007.
