I read yesterday the Canucks offered Matthias a three year deal but he turned them down. Probably thought he could cash in during free agency. With the GM's using restraint, for the most part, this off-season...it backfired on him. To some degree.

If that is true, I'm very happy he turned down the offer. Matthias was much too inconsistent and invisible to be resigning for 3 more years. There are still too many roster spots being filled by vets so having him lock down one for 3 more years would of been a poor choice IMO.
