I think Nurse, Reinhart & Sekera are huge moves in the right direction. To be honest our defense isn't gonna be that great anymore either.

I agree with Nurse. Sekera is an upgrade on what they have right now, but i still think tanve, edler, hammer are better. Reinhart is hit or miss according to Isles fans. Could be great but could be bust. Apprently isn't playing like a 4th overall Dman

I feel the same way about Edler...if he uses instinct and skill, he's good. However if he tries and thinks about it....well -39 is no fluke.

I'll take Edmonton's defense over ours, Tanev is the only one of our D at this point who's comparable. Reinhart was buried on the Islanders, and Sekera is a huge upgrade that's slightly better at this point than Hamhuis. I really think Hamhuis has lost quite a few steps due to injuries/age and Edler can be just as hit and miss as Reinhart.

I actually agree in principal w both comments.....I actually love higgins. And hes a great SO performer too. Just if I had to weigh it out youth, less $, more goal potential and that elusive power forward which can also play center wins. He has something that is rare. There are many higgins like players so easy to replace. You don't let guys like mathias walk for nothing.
