Hey now, Lowe and MacTavish did one good thing, they chased away all the corporate types and made it uncool to watch hockey in Edmonton, so that all the regular people types could get tickets.

It's Lowe that really has no clue. But MacT ain't cut out to be a GM that was for sure. I actually didn't mind him as a head coach. He took a pretty mediocre EDM club to within one win of the SCF...impressive really. But like most coaches they have a lifespan and MacT's time was pretty much done a few years after the cup run. I couldn't figure the Kruger firing though...I thought he was a pretty damn good coach that just didn't get enough time in EDM to make things work...

I guess they'll either re-sign for a significant discount for being 2nd or 3rd liners or do what other Swedes have done and either retire or lace them up for a couple of years back in Sweden with a much reduced schedule. Don't think they'll waive their NTC's as I'm sure they want to control how they end their careers.

I would guess the only way they would waive would be to go to a contending team, at the tdl, on the last year of their contract. And likely still a package deal at that. Stars would have to align.

I predict we are a wild card team next year, if we make the playoffs. JB, hold onto your picks!
