Carol, thanks for your comments with respect to the Spotrac.com website. I've had a chance to peruse the site a little further now and you're right, it's not as good as the Fanager one. Fewer details and the layout isn't as good as the Fanager site; however, if you just want a very quick summary of a player's current contract then Spotrac will do the trick.

He's got three years left at 750K more per year than Burrows, who only has two years left. For a team in transition, I don't see that working for the Canucks.

Last time he played a full season (81 games) was back in 2006 (28 points). He had just one great season of 67 points back in 2011 with Toronto. Since then, he's been fairly quiet. Given his constant battle with injuries, and considering the $6.7 salary for 2015-2016, I don't think it's a gamble worth taking.
