I think with a vet like Prust, you can put him with a younger player or two. More defensively responsible and a bit more physical than Kassian, or at least more consistent in that area.
With more youth in the lineup, making the playoffs will be more of a struggle, but I think it is better, win or lose, to insulate the young guys with character vets. - hillbillydeluxe
Pretty much same thing as I was trying to articulate. Other teams are going to try and intimidate our younger players. You need guys like Dorsett and Prust. They work hard and bring it every night. You want kids learning from guys like that. If they are willing to bleed for you... You better bring it every night.
What's a young player going to learn from a guy like Flatrick Marleau? How to take nights off? No fire? No passion? No thanx.
Prust won't take as many dumb penalties as Kassian either. Kass was just SOB 2.0

Its come to the point that I can somewhat understand why we are one of the most hated fan bases
And no, Im not kidding.
Let them do their jobs, critique them in 3 years. They are doing what we asked of them and now everyone is crying in their pillows.
I havent posted a ton on Carols blog in the last month or so because of whiners. The Kassian trade was a tough pill to swallow for many but it is what it is. everyone needs to stfu and move on. - vancity787
100%. Kassian is a drunk and loves the blow. I'll never forget being at a bar in yaletown during the playoffs and kassisan wasn't even watching the game. I understand that he was injured but appeared to have no interest in the flames Van game even though it was 2-2.
You can't have cancers like that in the locker room. The young guys need to learn from true pros that go hard every shift like Dorset and Prust. That's why we had to throw in a 5th as we are getting a proven vet who is strong in the locker room while MTL is getting somebody that will need a lot of hand holding |

Dorsett can't do it alone either. I am sure he breathed a sigh of relief as soon as he heard Prust was coming over for Kassian because he has basically doing it on his own.
The only thing I find sad with Kassian is that he had size, speed a good shot the rest of his game was lacking. All the potential was there for him to be a great power forward for us and for the league. Imo he squandered it. |

I wonder if MG was aware of these issues when he made the trade with BUFF? Based on the return we got for Kassian, Montreal was. |

I read somewhere that Dorsett sent a text to Benning, thanking him for the trade. Most likely because Kassian couldnt do his job and Because Brandon Prust can drop the gloves. |

I think complaining is the new black. People just love to b!tch.
It should be painfully obvious we need to rebuild. It needed change after 2012. Maybe people like reruns. - rugdnit
Old diminishing players, back-up goaltenders & cokeheads don't garner much in return. People on here constantly rip other fanbases for over-valuing their players and then turn into a bunch of blubbering hypocrites when it comes to their team. |

Inconsistency. There is a fine line a player walks in professional sports. Kassian's inconsistency staying on the right side of that line is the issue, on and off the ice. |

It's ok to question the teams decisions, blind faith is not healthy, that said, some of the hysterics is both annoying and comical at the same time. Let it play out and see where they're at in three years. It takes that amount of patience to deal with things like this. |

Let me tell you this Mr Penticton. If you ever come to Langley. I could give you a place that is as good or better than MTL.
Not a word of a lie.

I've accepted the fact we will suck. Three years is also a reasonable timeline. Any opinions will either be incorrect or validated by then. I wonder how all these changes are doing for the season ticket drive, that's a tough spin. |
