Does anyone know anything about this Blair Jones kid? apparently the Canucks signed him today (28 year old C) for a cap hit of $600k. Seems he's been around a bit, Tampa, Calgary, and Philly but didn't stick with any of those. I suppose he's a roster fill in for Utica, I would imagine?

I don't think anyone with the club would ever admit they are in tank mode. But I do think JB is ensuring there are openings for new players beyond Sven and RonnyK.

A little more youth in the lineup, surrounded by some vets, I think they will still try to make the playoffs and that may or may not happen. And it will be good for the club either way.

Like if ROR is getting 7.5 what does monahan get 9? With all these long term big money deals going to be some teams totally screwed when the cap comes down after next season. Not that it will for sure but if the loony drops and the canadian teams start loosing it has to drop like crazy

They have 4 players left to sign....but basically they're not wasting big money on 2
4/5 d-men like we are on Edler and Sbisa. Hamhuis is a 2....maybe 3 now that he's slowing down so it's justified. Bieksa is 3/4 so with fowler, vatenen and depres being signed for cheap for what they bring they have probably the best bang for your buck D-core. However they have 4 goalies so they may trade 1 as a back up +prospects for bigger name D later in the summer.
