I like that Hexy seems like he is going to make somewhat conservative cap management a key part of the foundation, rather than pushing the envelope as they have in years past.
That's why I'd stay away from Williams, Sharp, Semin, etc, and just look to add depth pieces. - Jsaquella
I concur

Voracek: 0.23 goals / game ( 23 goals in 2013-2014) (22g in 2015 - 82 gpi)
Perry: 0.41 goals / game (43 goals in 2013-2014) (33 goals in 2015 - 67gpi)
Voracek plays with Giroux ( not bald)
Perry plays with Getzlaf ( is bald)
consider the variables my friend - Chris48
Well think this way giroux got just over 8 million..He was the leading scorer for the entire nhl over a 3 year span (might be still the reigning leader after last year ? Not sure). He plays pp pk and top line minutes and he plays center and has an extremely high face off percentage. Jake plays only one side the ice.. no pk. And has only had a big season one year. He hasn't proven to be more than a 20 goal scorer. And he didn't play all that great away from giroux.. mind you he didmt.play bad but he didn't get the offense generated like it was thought he could. Anything over 7 million is an over pay in my eyes until he shows consistency. I hate career years in contract years always ends badly for us |

Voracek isn't Corey Perry - mochoson
Maybe not, but he's this team's Perry. And for that, Flyers will do what it takes to keep him in Philadelphia. |

On Voracek.
I agree with you ... I think 7M per X 8 years is reasonnable in today's NHL..... not an elite scorer or finisher, but his speed, puck possession, zone entries and the chemistry with G are all pretty amazing. Hope we lock him up long term. |

cant say today's move will translate into any legitimate success, but i do think it gives a healthy crosby probably a 70 percent chance to win the art ross |

Yes. No reason for either side to do a deal that long. 6 year deal puts him at 32 years old and another huge contract if he still has his legs. |

Probably. Jake doesn't strike me as an "all about me" guy. I would like to think he wants to stay and help the Flyers win. I still am however, okay with Jake getting paid. I'm more than okay with it creeping up to 8 mil. Got to do what you can to keep your core guys. |

Thing is, if you want Voracek at 7M per and not at 8.25M per, the contract lenght will help in lowering the annual salary cap hit (AAV). |

I'm pretty sure there will be a decent market for the veteran dmen on the roster. Its just a matter of who Hexy wants to deal at this point, IMO.

Kessel will help, he's good with guys that can carry the puck. Kessel will figure out where to go and have huge numbers next to Sid |

Doesn't sound like Kings will be signing Justin Williams. Still possible, I suppose, and things can change quick, but looks like they're out |

The Flyers can deal him at anytime, including before his bonus is paid. - MJL
Although no team dealing for him is likely to want to be on the hook for that bonus. |

Yup. The reality is that he's not getting more money than Giroux. Not a doubt in my mind Hextall gets it done.
6 years, 47 million would be my offer
