Martin St. Louis has announced his retirement from the NHL.

So maybe do like a one year $2 mil contract?

- Streit2ThePoint

Well surely if a first line player who had 50+ points last year just hung up the skates, a (frank)ing stiff that had 20 points bouncing from 4th line/healthy scratch is going to call it quits as well. RIGHT? RIGGGHTTTTTTT?????

Why would you give $2M to a guy who is retired? And why would he retire when he's worth $4M a year?
- jmatchett383

Maybe because:

a) No team offered him a contract

b) He wanted to retire

c) He's not "worth" $4 mil year. That was a number I came up with.

So no team, at all, offered him a contract, yet you originally wanted to offer him $4M? Maybe it's a fact that he and every other GM who actually watched him realized that he was cooked.

But no, let's throw several million dollars at him.

He won't, because Hakstol never won an NCAA title.

Coaching at a tiny school like UND, the deck was stacked against him.

I hope so. I really do. And I hope that the miracles of modern science can cure Embiid finally. And I hope Okafor comes in and it an All Star. And I hope that Noel and the European turn into key pieces of a championship team. I just want to see some results before I crown Hinkie GM of the century.
- jmatchett383

I'm the same with Chip Kelly. He's not a genius in my book until he actually accomplishes something.

Noel will not be in the 3 spot.

I'm not factoring my boy Joel until he actually is deemed healthy

- Crimsoninja

What spot will he be in? Okafor isn't a center, although he could play some minutes there, but he's a 4.
