Lakers whiffing so far in FA. If they miss on picking up a center I think they'll be terrible in a tough western conference. MCW wasn't a top 10 pick in a pretty week draft so I won't miss him. - jstross
Lakers got Russel and then Kobe coming back and also Randle. They won't be where they were this year.
I think MCW was replaceable but when they traded him it was made that they got this great 1st round pick. But really what have they gotten? |

If you listen to him talk and understand his philosophy, you'd be more inclined to agree with what he's doing.
If you look at it from an outside perspective, you'll never understand and see each move as just a way to move the team further from contention. - PhillySportsGuy
I understand his philosophy. The more picks you acquire, the better chance you have of picking a player who's a superstar, which is a requirement of a winning team in basketball.
My question was, will he ever be content with any of his picks, or will he keep recycling the players he's picked for more first-round picks? He almost seems addicted to picks, so I'm not sure he'll ever floor a competitive team. |

I feel like Embid will be Greg Oden.

No, but he may be able to beat Vinny in a race. |

I think Kobe is done. Just not the same player. Russell and Randall are Good offensively, but liabilities on D.
Noel was excellent the second half of last season. he's the perfect compliment for Okefer who I like better than Russell. it takes time to build from scratch. keep in mind the Sixers were a bad team before they traded Iggy, Vucevic, the 2016 1st and Harkless? for 2 stiffs in Richardson and Bynam. Next year they'll get Sarij and 4 1sts and possibly swap picks with the Kings. They can now use those assets to acquire NBA players. They're getting there. I just pretend Embiid will never play. If he does it's a huge bonus.

I don't have one because, aside from Noel, none of his prized prospects have played a game yet, unless the cripple somehow got into a game last year I was unaware of.
Are the Sixers going to shoot high and aim for 20 wins this year, or strive to go 0-for-season and get more picks that may or may not ever play an NBA game? |

Noel had a better season last year than any one in his draft, Embiid is hurt and Okefer just got picked. Sarij is sill overseas. This was expected to take time, but I think you'll see the roster start to stabalize this year. |

I hope so. I really do. And I hope that the miracles of modern science can cure Embiid finally. And I hope Okafor comes in and it an All Star. And I hope that Noel and the European turn into key pieces of a championship team. I just want to see some results before I crown Hinkie GM of the century. |

Several. The most recent was moving from 29th in the draft to 24th. |

Why would you give $2M to a guy who is retired? And why would he retire when he's worth $4M a year? |
