Hinkie is so good at finding the weakest one at the table. He did it to Minnesota last year and got the Kings this year.
Hexy should wake up every morning and call Don Sweeney just to see how he's feeling. - PhillySportsGuy
So is this the year where they finally start trying to compete, or is it another year of trading the roster for more picks? I'm actually dead serious in asking. |

The way Hinkie unloaded a crippled Jrue Holiday on the Pelicans incurring a 3 million dollar fine was sheer genius. Hinkie is the smartest guy in the room. |

They made an enormous splash in free agency yesterday. All the big ticket items are lining up on Broad St. Minimum 40 wins next year. No more of this laughing stock 20 win wussy act this year. |

I'm not. Dude seems to have lost a lot of his luster. His production fell off after his draft year and from limited viewing, he hasn't impressed me. |

But that guy who once broke some AHL trade for 2 players no one has ever heard of said he was being moved imminently. |

I'll reserve judgment on the Sixers when I see them finally start winning. It is easy to tear down a team. We will see if he can actually build a winner. |

He really is one of those guys who is totally unappreciated strictly because of how consistent his game is. He isnt streaky, he isnt flashy, he isnt a physical brute nor a slouch in the physical game. He is pretty much above average in pretty much every aspect. Plays all situations, can play any forward spot and any role. Losing him would be brutal. - jak521
Brutal? Idk about brutal. I doubt they'd move him without at least replacing him with a comparable player. At the very least, they would need to replace his defensive acumen amongst the forwards. |

Based on age, upside, and organizational need, Reinhart.
Edit: And cap hit |

They won't be good this year, but they'll have young talent.
They're kind of like the Sabres right now. The talent is there, it just needs to grow. They still need to fill in other areas on the roster, but they have the ability to sign guys, trade for guys or draft guys in the next couple years.
The trade they just pulled off with the Kings might go down as the best trade in the NBA over the last 5 years. That's how lopsided it is |

Middle 6 offensive player (30-45) points and a good penalty killer. He's a solid player who we should keep unless someone comes with a respectable offer, but he's a very average player. - mochoson
He was injured last season, so he didn't have a good year. Look at his ES point totals in previous season and compare it to players around the same point totals, that are considered top offensive players. Then consider the situations he plays in and his usage. Pretty strong numbers for Read. |

Having him injured last year was brutal for us.. having him gone would be worse.
When healthy you can pretty much pencil him in for a 20-20 year while providing great all around play.

I've never really been a fan of him. I'm always nervous about defensive defenseman who are picked high in the draft. |

He's a very important player right now, but he's very expendable in the right scenario. That's all I'm getting at. - mochoson
What's the right scenario? I'm not sure what your opinion is. You say he's a very important player here, and in another post, he's very average. |

They didn't get anyone of impact.
The NBA is built on superstars. They might have one in Embid if healthy but they still have a long way to go. And yes they have tons of cap space but do they really have anything that would attract a Superstar to sign there like Durant or any other superstar. |

Kid had a really good first AHL season. Could be an extremely solid 3 Dman. I'm not trading what Edmonton did to acquire him but I've always liked him. |

Yes.
But the Flyers have legit pieces in Giroux and Voracek.
Also with hockey it is more team oriented compared to NBA where have a superstar can cover lots of wholes. There is more parody in the NHL. |
