Yup... something like that. Akeson has NHL hands and creativity but is panned by scouts (not just Philly's) for having AHL feet and lacking strength on top of being undersized. That makes it very, very tough to stick as an NHL regular.

Exactly, his ship, IMO, has sailed. He will still have a nice a career, but it will be in the AHL or maybe in Europe, though is lack of footspeed won't help him on the larger ice surface.

Let's roll with this group, completely fine with it and there's really nothing left in free agency that makes sense.

Im ok with this for now. I understand Hextall is hampered with about 15-20 mil in deadweight contracts. If he could unload some more money then it would continue to be an even more successful off season. In the end, this team needs more depth goal scoring and frankly they really need to get a top flight goal scorer to play with G and Jake. No offense to Raffl cause I like him as a player, just not as a top line winger.

Yup, Hexy has made some nice moves to make the Phantoms more competitive, Drewiskie, Brent, etc... I'd much rather have our young players developing in a winning environment.

Yeah, I'm hoping they go with a young coach, perhaps someone out of Junior.

I'm also hoping they can just re-sign Zepp and go with the same tandem as last year.

Thats my point you don't complementarity players playing on your top line. I really wanted Evander Kane last year. He the type of player I would love to see play with G and Jake. I think Raffl as a solid 3rd line player works for me. Also, Gagner is a shot in the dark. I think he's a good player and Im hoping that this is the team he fits in with and realizes his true potential. We shall see, Im not expecting it, however anything to keep Umberger off the ice is fine with me.

This is completely off topic.. but does anyone use NHL Gamecenter? I'm looking into other options to drop cable, but the one thing holding me up is the Flyers and Phillies. I'm spoiled, having pretty much every game through CSN, so it's been tough. But we just don't watch much TV at all anymore, and what we do watch is available through Chromecast/AmazonStick. The only thing for me is the sports...
