Is Nick Cousins still waiver exempt next year? Or do we loose him for nothing if he doesn't make the team? - mochoson
This is his final year I believe.

It's never to late to fire up NHL 15. I'd like to hold onto both Schenns. My wish list starts with trading Amac and this guy finding Vinny... - High_and_wide

I didn't get what you were saying and still don't, so forgive me. In the premise you give, the length of the deal doesn't lower the cap hit. What lowers the cap hit is the lower cap hit. 8 versus 7. In the premise you give, the length of term doesn't have anything to do with lowering the cap hit.
If the 8M deal was over 7-8 or 4-5 years the cap hit would still be 8M. If the 7M deal was over 4-5 years, versus a 7-8 year term, the AAV is the same, which is 7M - MJL
I have no idea what he was saying. Maybe that he'd take less money for longer term and security ? Not that the actual years would mean less cap hit. At least.. that's what I hope he meant.
My wish is he decides he wants a lucrative bridge deal at 4 years 30 million. He banks that the cap will be higher and he will be in his prime and get his real money at 28. And if he fails to live up to the hype we aren't screwed for life.

Waivers is based on games played, and when a player signed his contract, and at what age. |

JWill 2yr $3.25 AAV to the Caps - PhillySportsGuy
I'm still holding out hope for Chris Stewart at the right price. He's a decent age, which fits well within this group. He can play either wing. Top line experienced player. Could help the second unit of the PP. He's just not very consistent. |

He's not coming to Philly. Hexy needs the money to re-sign MDZ. Only have about $4M left to spend |

Not coming here, and not the right player for the Flyers. They don't need a slow winger.

JWill 2yr $3.25 AAV to the Caps - PhillySportsGuy
I like JWill, but that's a lot for an old man.
And remember, he's been playing NHL hockey since 18.
Part of me would have liked to see him back and the rational part knew he'd be expensive. |

Hey guys...
I was reading through the jets forum and 2 sources there say Hextall has sent an offer their way for either Buff or Enstrom....Names going there include combos of Amac, Streit, Schenn...I've even hear Sanheim....
Anyone in your area hear of this????? |

I think the deal is actually pretty good. I'm kinda jealous the Flyers aren't in contention or I'd love to have him at that number. |

Like if he signs in September for 1-year, $800k, sure. Guy can play LW, at least.
But not on July 1. |

That's "Seller" day.
All FA's are shiny and new on that day. It's like a drug.
Good on Hexy for laying off. |

He's 33. He's no spring chicken.
And he really has nothing left to prove in his career. What's his desire to sell out like?
I dunno. The Caps needed a signing like him more than the Flyers did. Nostalgia made me want him back, but really, we don't need him. |

We're good. Looking forward to seeing what Gagner can do given this is his 'prove it' season. Williams at 2 years would have been ok (like white bread is ok), but he's not pushing the Flyers out of the bubble zone. So why bother? Conserve cap space, see what happens. |

My response to MJL was admittingly on called for and unprovoked, my apologizes but I have to ask, who are the right players to play for this team? Sam Gagner fills a need of depth in the line up and while he's willing to play at any forward position, so was Vinny. Gagner has seen the majority of his career at center but many believe he'll be placed at wing because of his defensive shortcomings. Sam Gagner isn't a player the Flyers should have traded for but he's here. Not a good defensive center, never met expectations offensively. |

i dont think gagner is straight garbage. hes infinitely better than vinny right now, in my opinion. |
