I think this is a fantastic trade for the Canucks. You guys are going to love Prust, he is team captain material. Meanwhile, Kassian is big, dumb, slow....and dumb. It will take less than 10 games for Therrien to bench Kassian.
This is a really really good deal for the Canucks. |

Fine, have a full on battle royale. It'll be interesting to see who's still standing when I get back. |

You've gotta get worse before you get better. - LeftCoaster
Canucks are my #2 team after the Sabres. Living in the OK Valley, I obviously watch a lot of Canucks games. Cheer for them vs anyone but the Sabres. In my opinion, the Canucks have multiple issues that they need to deal with....
- neither the Acquilini's nor the Canuck management have the balls to burn it down to the ground like the Sabres (or Coyotes) did
- it has been a brutal few years for us Sabres fans but we are now coming out the other side. Do you think the Canuck fan base can put up this type of plan?
- the Canucks are caught in no-man's land - just like the Sabres used to be in. Not bad enough to get high draft picks yet not nearly good enough to advance far in the playoffs (except for that one great year)
- the Sedins are an anchor that are going to weigh this team down until they retire. In a salary cap era, no team can take on $14 million in salary - on two guys who are about to turn 35
- Miller was a BAD investment - and I was a big-time Miller fan. Another anchor at $6 million per year.
- the teams around the Canucks are all vastly improving. Even the friggin' Oilers!
The good news is that as of right now, I think the Canucks will only be better than the Coyotes, Leafs, Devils and perhaps a few others. Should be a high draft pick next year. Hopefully Benning doesn't trade it away!

Vey on the team annoys me. He really does nothing well.
Reinhart has big upside. |

Man, Bartkowski is basically a better Sbisa at half the price. That contract which I thought would maybe look better after UFA, looks even worse. |

8 of the last 9 Stanley cup winners have an average of less then one top 5 pick in the last 15 yrs. Sounds to me the the ripping it down to the floor isn't all its cracked up to be

Sbisa is a 5/6 .
Sekera got 33 mill. He is at very best a #4 |

From a hab fan perspective, I must say I like the 5th rounder and the cap savings that comes with Kassian. Prust is heart and soul but clearly slowing down a lot. not the same guy the Habs signed 3 years ago. |

Sbisa is a #7, Bartkowski is a 5/6/7 type. Sekera is a 3/4 type of guy. |

Based on who's opinion?
I mean Murrey gave him 2.8 and he's proven to be a good gm. I think you're talking out of your ass on this one |
