Canucks fans thought he was dope, the rest of the league, not so much. - moondawg
Kinda the point when you play that role to perfection. |

No i have it on good authority (blowted) that he was a cancer and the Laffs won that deal. - walshyleafsfan
I t think I ever said that. Believe it or not but I think kessel is a great addition on the right team. The team just needs needs to have the defensive system in place to compensate for Kessel's lack of back checking. |

Just think of what Dion is worth - Bieksa#3

To be honest I talk so much poop in the leafs thread who knows what I said but I can't imagine I complimented MLSE for anything. |

after hearing Benning yesterday it sounds like Higgins will be here until training camp. If one of the kids looks like they're ready higgins will be moved, if they're not Higgy will be staying for at least part of the year. I personally don't mind him staying until the trade deadline when his value is probably highest. Shink, gaunce etc could use a little bit more time in the AHL IMO - Mungo
The problem I have with Higgins is his apparent guaranteed spot in the 2nd line. He is a solid 3rd liner at best |

Kessel has value, he puts up points. Might not be the most likable player/personality, but being able to score consistently has value.
Hope him and one of the Pens centres can find some chemistry. |

englland and smid are available - numbear
I think I'd rather have Engelland on our 3rd pairing over Sbisa. But I think both are a little over paid, more so with Sbisa. |

NHL Winners & Losers from MSN.com
Winners - CAL, EDM
Losers - VAN (write up below)
On the night before free agency, the Vancouver Canucks parted with solid, longtime defenseman Kevin Bieksa for a second-round pick from Anaheim—which figures to be a pick at No. 50 or beyond at best. They were also poised to lose forward Shawn Matthias for nothing.
The next day, they went out and did…not much. Well, they did add Brandon Prust from Montreal for Zack Kassian, who was supposed to be the Next Big Thing after coming over from Buffalo for Cody Hodgson in 2012. Essentially, Vancouver gave up on what was supposed to be a cornerstone of the future for an aging grinder who scored four goals in 82 games last season.
Vancouver got lucky in last year's free-agent, ahem, frenzy, getting a fine year out of Radim Vrbata and a serviceable one from Ryan Miller before he got hurt. Now, it seems as if Vancouver has regressed again. The playoffs seem much further away after Wednesday. - VanHockeyGuy

Higgins doesn`t fit either line. Not physical enough for the 3rd line, not skilled enough for the 2nd.
He is good on the pk, shouldn`t be allowed anywhere near the pp.
But I keep telling myself, don`t hate the player, hate the game. It is not his fault that management still looks at him as a better option on 2nd unit pp, 2nd line, and any other situation imaginable than whoever is left sitting on the bench. |

All this twitter hate for JB and he is finally doing what was promised and everyone has been crying about how $hitty he is. F#ck off already. The guy has done more to change the franchise in a year with an aging core than other teams who have young tradable assets who are too afraid to make a trade. imo this team got better by subtraction. |

I think they have made a lot of the easy or obvious moves with the core. Still would like to see what we could get for Burrows and maybe one of Higgins or Hansen, can't see both being moved. They might have to make some room for Grenier, Virtanen or one of the other young forwards.
Still not happy with the d. Hopefully there is another move coming.
I think the team got better. Even if the playoffs are missed next season, the team got better. |

Come on man Benning sucks. That would have to be true or it means the majority of canuck fans don't know what they are talking about. |
