I don't think we're done. There are still decent free agents out there who can come in here, showcase themselves and get us some draft picks at the deadline. And we have roster spots for them.

First Clarkson, now Kessel gone ... also new management team and a much needed focus on retaining draft picks ... looks like a new era in Leafs land.

Tough decisions but they had to be made ... it's going to take some time but at least you guys have something to look forward to instead of the constant drama.

Even if you don't win right away, It can actually be fun seeing your team getting better every year.

The Leafs have 21 mil in cap space when Horton goes back on the IR. Still have the two RFA's, and more potential trades like Bozak and Dion.

I don't think they're done, but I don't expect crazy contracts anymore.

To all the people complaining about how bad of a trade this was to make....there's a reason the leafs want to trade him!!!!! He scores goals, yes thats great, but thats all he does. We know he's not a complete player, you build a frannchise around. This isn't a secret. Other teams know it to. Add in he limited NTC and this is what you get. I keep hearing how bad it is, but haven't heard anyone saying this is what they should of got. For weeks now every nonleaf fan on this website has been saying "we want nothing to do with Kessel". An 8 million per year player who packed it in around Jan last year, is off the team. Be happy the leafs got anything from him. The people saying just wait til a "good" deal comes around. What if he packs it in around Nov this year, think anybody is gonna want him? He had to be moved this summer, the leafs took the best offer. End of story

if pens missed playoffs in both of the next 2 years, no 1st rd pick. Leafs get a Pitt's 2nd and toronto keeps the 2nd rounder that suppose to go to pitts
