Oh yeah it was a gong show there but at the end of the day Nash had a NTC.

You will get the most value for a player on an ELC or still having RFA status.

I said this months ago and was mocked, JVR will get the Leafs more back than Kessel will. If they want to trade him that is.

- Mr_Smokey

I probably wouldn't. Regular contributor, we need someone to score goals, and looks like a stable personality moving forward

Man. Kinda sucks. Never was a Kessel hater.

Lord knows when we get a goal scorer like him again.

Did you read the fine print
- Landsbergfan

The lottery protection, and all the specifics of the Pens making the playoffs... shocks me they got away with that specifically.

apparently kapanen plays both sides

jvr - marner - nylander
kapanen - kadri - brown
leipsic - holland - johnson
bailey - gauthier - hyman

+ whoever they draft

- BoTtLePoLiCe

Of those, I think Marner and Nylander will be special together. The rest? NHL journeymen and 3rd liners.

Where did you hear this?

Just from friends who hang around players who are having a shin dig at a million dollar cottage up on Stoney lake lol. Plus Dubas in his interview had said that if it wasnt Kapanen there wouldnt be a deal.

I doubt they're shopping him like Phil, Dion, Tyler. I like him a lot asa player and there is room to grow under Babcock.

If the deadline comes around and NSH offers up Jones for JVR and some scrub prospect like Percy because they desperately need scoring then you pull the trigger.

Oh a hundred percent, what we're lacking are those major pieces, especially on the backend outside of Reilly. Hopefully they can play their cards right, and not show their hand before they try and do something

From watching some Kapanen highlights kid looks like he's got great speed good hands and a nice shot. Him on a line with Marner and Nylander could be sick in a few years. Thats a lot of speed and play making ability. Not to mention they all seem to be able to finish.

Kessel deal = retained salary is a killer for 7 years, otherwise ok

Parenteau= old, soft and French

Hunwick = too old for a rebuild

Panik = good signing (should have tried for 3 years )

Arcobello = not as good as Santorelli

Today as a whole......not ideal
