It isn't Leaf hate. You look at real legit elite players and they battle for the Art Ross Trophy. Guys like Crosby, Giroux, Benn, Getzlaf, Perry and Ovechkin. These guys make other players better. Kessel has only scored 30 goals once in his career and his highest point total was 60 points. He is a one way player and he will do slightly better in Pits but he is in now way elite and he isn't going to help stop pucks from going in the Pens net. They will have to out score opponents every time to win.

If its all 18 year old pimply face wouldn't the parole conditions prevent him from being here
- jribout

Based on his avatar, it's a requirement that we're all at least 18 years old.

how the (frank) am i the jerk...i'm being called all kinds of names and i'm the jerk?

tell me what i've said that's been offensive or derogatory...

and if it's about me continuing to have the kessel discussion...well...i thought that was the point of this site...you know...where you're allowed to have a different take on things.

that's fine...i'm outta here...enjoy Canada day folks.

- Pen15

Fair enough. Point made about some being douches back to you. I think it's the way you express yourself more than your actual opinion that some take issue with. Just my opinion, not taking sides here.

conditional first? as in its non-playoff protected, and it defers to the next year if pens miss or as in, there's no first coming our way if Pens miss....if this is the deal...I want to hurt someone.
- mykokes

if they miss the playoffs next year, the 1st is in 2017.

Any Stephen King fans? Halfway through I Finders Keepers. I'm 50/50 on it so far. Not a book that needed a sequel imo. Original was fantastic though. But stood more in its own than something that could be continued.

I haven't read a King book in years because I hated the endings. Heard the Dark Tower series is worth getting into.

And now he sits on his throne in Calgary as they skip the rebuild and quickly become a team to be reckoned with, because Leafs.
- 1979AD

GAACK ---- there was no rebuild skipped in Calgary!!!! Holy cow, they are the prototype for a team that rebuild in this new era. That started long before The Dark Lord Burke ever arrived.

I hate Calgary but gotta love them for how they have turned it around. As a Canuck fan, I am looking at 5 years of getting our asses handed to us by the Alberta teams... it's just like the late 80s again!

I've come to the conclusion, the Leafs need to hire a gm.

Thems the breaks.

Silver lining? The post Kessel era Babcock team era begins, and the Leafs are 2 prospects and one 1st round pick richer.

That would be (frank)ing perfect.

I figure losing Hamilton leaves a huge hole in terms of a right-handed defenseman.

And if they miss the playoffs in 2017 it's their 2nd rounder with no Leaf pick going back.

Hope everything works out good for you man,

All the same with me, you know, deprived of sex, drink too much, hate my career,

Other than that, I'm great.

- sloppyseconds2

Haha it's about finding happiness in what ya got, that's why we love our teams regardless of performance, temporary escapes from life's downs. Don't worry about the sex deprivation.... Sometimes it's worth it to not deal with the female doging, whining and nagging. The more women I've met since I've been single, the more I realize just how smart my dog is

"Some of you guys"...I was a fan of Burke but in hindsight I feel we could've done exactly this 5 years ago and been better off. Oh well, I've moved on and i'm definitely looking forward
- coolehmon41

I was referring to you saying 'Kessel is garbage". That's just not true. But I agree with everything else.

So they can sign Franson to 5+mill/yr and have a huge right handed D hole, and less of a salary cap to fill it

The dark tower series is insane, brilliant, phenomenal, a masterpiece, exceptional, fantastic etc.

Only one problem. The ending

And that was the only King ending I took exception to.

It's if the Pens make the playoffs or not, so pretty much a guarantee that the pick will be mid to late 1st round and no better.

Note to Brian Burke!!!!!!

I just read an interview where, when King was asked how is such a prolific writer he replied that he cannot remember writing many of his books!!!
