Leafs did great. They were definitely dealing from a position of weakness and still managed to get a respectable return.

Hey guys!!! I just traded my PS4 for a Panasonic 3DO!!!

Look, the Playstation requires me to pay $49.99 a year for roughly the next 7 years (8 years is average for a console generation) for a + membership to play online so I won the trade because I offloaded that pesky 350 bucks.

WIN-WIN!!!

....I'm just glad he's gone...couple second rounders would have been enough...Leafs had to pay to dump fat boy

Conditional on the year.

Try again

- Lee Denault

right. so we don't improve our lottery chances, and we improve Pitt's chances of picking their 2nd rounder a few spots after we pick with their 1st rounder.

but yeah...i'm just female doging.

that would be icing on the cake...we may have traded the 32nd pick for the 29th....for (frank)ing kessel....great job leafs.

OR. you can just hold on to him.

by the way....1st is conditional.

- Pen15

Holding on to him has nothing to do with 'fair market value'. The value is dictated by the market, ie. what teams are willing to give up.

And (frank) holding on to him. The team needed a culture change, Phil's entitled, rely on his natural gifts alone way of playing as the team's best player made that impossible. He needed to be moved. Before this year started. I'm 100% behind that decision. They'll now have 3 extra prospects (A recent 1st, a recent 2nd, and a future 1st) to develop from the ground up, the Babcock way.

Just so we are clear.

You think

Sidney Crosby

At age 28

Is declining?

I don't know how to respond to this.

Is it because in an off year he was still top 3 in scoring?

If the Penguins don't make the playoffs in the next two years, that trade was a horrible fail from their perspective.
- The Shrike

Correct. Pittsburgh has zero in terms of prospects. This was a go for broke deal.

Apparently the Leafs signed PA Parenteau for 1 year at 1.5M

Good roster filler and possible trade deadline bait for another pick or prospect.

Well, the salary retain sucks.

But we have two firsts next year. At least. Hopefully they don't trade down again due to a lack of seconds. But two firsts is great as a starting point for next draft.

Really don't care much for Harrington, but between Marner, Bracco, Nylander, Kapanen and Nylanders twin sister, one is bound to be a home run.
