That's the thing. They did a great traditional rebuild last week and most did not notice.

You don't need top 5 picks every year. You need to stop giving away 2nd and 3rd rounders like they were candy.

I loved their draft weekend. It was terrific.

I like Dreger. I think he's one of the best out there with Bob.

They need to do the things you just mentioned but they do need a few top 5 picks... And those picks will come if they unload these players this summer.

Bozak possibly going to Ari would mean Vermette not going back to Arizona..

Still think first (and only?) Leafs signing will be Hunwick.

I think if Vermette doesn't go back to Arizona i can see them def going for Bozak via trade. It would make poop way more interesting if Kessel would accept a trade to ARI if Bozak ends up there. Do you trade them together? Do you ship Bozak out there first and would that interest Kessel to waive?

And what would the return be for Kessel? They won't part with Strome no way, but one of Domi/Duclair/Dvorak, roster player, and a 1st in 2016?

I'd love the Leafs to sign Franson, simply because it means almost certainly that Phaneuf would be gone.

No doubt he is. Not disagreeing. But at least Dregs is better than those SN plugs.

I'm sure they'll trade guys. But the deals need to make sense. You do not trade a Phil Kessel until you have a good deal.

Of course, no team wants to get (frank)ed on a trade and have the rest of the league perceive them as weak or stupid. I think there's a market for Kessel the issue is the NTC. This needs to be overcome.

Blackhawks being one of them, got Kane and Toews in the top three but drafted well outside of that, signed some excellent UFA's and traded well.
