Not a bad return for Kessel......certainly not great, or close to what most felt that the leafs would get. The retained salary, I'd true, is pretty awful.

No mention of how much was retained.

This deal was supposed advance the rebuild not handcuff the team for 7 years.

As a Leafs fan, I can understand you feel that way.
