Teams on his list weren't lining up, I'll agree.

The Pens were the ONLY team leafs could freely trade him too, as the other 7 were not in await ion to trade for him.

Possible there was a better offer, but if Phil knew about a Pittsburgh deal, he would say no to any other deal

- Big_Lightnin

Phil fukced them good and will do the same to the Pens

Glad to see the leafs f'd up the trade of their biggest asset in 20 years.
I believe the 1st rounder is only guaranteed if the pens make the playoffs.
Horrible.
The leafs traded a 35 goal scorer and two former 1st rounders for a potential late 1st rounder, a B prospect who isn't living up to potential a 5th dman and a 3rd liner.
Leafs should have traded for a real gm

- Fakepartofme

we won fack all with Kessel and he quit on his team down the stretch. He's a quitter you don't build a winning team with

Why would Florida pick up Marc Savard ?
- bixll

to have cap relief with Savard being on the LTIR.

This only happens, if they are at the cap ceiling.

The fact that we are using the context of Biggs being a first rounder and having to give him up is (frank)ing ridiculous....but don't tell the Pens that

and don't forget that the 1st is protected in either 2016 or 2017 if they don't make the playoffs..

yabbut we traded Clarkson and Kessel the untradeable contracts, more to follow. We are better because they are gone not for what we received in return

you put their top 3 forwards and their goalie's cap hits together and it's just under half the cap ceiling I believe

It's a lot $$ tied up. Do they put Letang go on the LTIR? or has he been cleared to resume training after the concussion ended his season last year.

My only issue with the trade is giving back the 2nd. Makes little sense.
- BetterCallSaul

This would have been awesome.

We would have had Pitts 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Rd picks in 2016 if they made the playoffs this year and we didn't have to give there 2nd back.

well I think they did the best the could with the salary and term he had left. That was the hard part trading 8mil for another 7 years. We are rid of it and him just like we got nothing for Clarkson. We're still better off
