Hawk fans you love Dano, awsome talent, as for Arty he brings that center depth you guys need.

That being said, all kekka needs now is that serviceable defenseman.

When he played with Hartnell and Wennberg was he a RW? Also did that line constitute the 2nd or 3rd line for the Jackets?

Saw plenty of the Jackets and liked Dano but didn't notice if he played with jam? This is a kid who will go to the net, corners and dirty areas?

Congrats Jacket fans. Saad as you know is a player, has won and knows what it takes to win. A mini Hossa is a fair analogy and seeing Hoss for 3 years has helped this kid. ......IF he ever learns how to finish he'll be a yearly 30 goal guy, but I'm not ready to say that yet. But his 3 zone game makes him a very good player if never hit 30 goals.

Look at his junior numbers, he's never been a high point guy but of course he's a very young power forward and those guys develop a bit slower.

Just wish somehow Jenner was in this deal, but he's not a Bowman type guy cuz he'll knock you into the 3rd row. No need for that in Chicago in a Bowman system.

And as you say now the Jackets need to find a top 4 Dman. Johnny Oduya? ... Thank God for the Center Ice package. I was a regular at the Jacket telecast, especially when they got healthy late, and next year will be must see.

Right now the rumour is that we are attempting to bring John Moore back into the fold,as for dano he played on the third line with Hartnell and Wennberg,it was a dynamite line, Dano for his size plays big but he can also do the finess moves (see the YouTube video of him leg breaking Jordan, it's insane).

Well, my favorite team in the East just became even more of my favorite now that Saad is going there. Hopefully your team stays healthy and you guys make some noise in the playoffs this upcoming season.

Also, this Dano kid seems pretty good.

Could you see your GM signing Johnny Oduya?

Lot of people underestimating how good Dano is and will be. I'm guessing in 2 or 3 years this trade will not look as lopsided as some claim it appears now. Really would have preferred it was Rychel instead of Dano.

Hope the Jackets sign him. Would love to see them turn into a good team. I am a little worried though that teams like the Ducks might come in with a strong sheet. Someone please tell me I'm wrong in worrying that the Ducks might get him.

Congrats... and I hate you now Blue Jackets

Heard your guys were in a discussion to land the home-town boy in a trade; not that it's much of a concession.

Also some numbers flying around were a $6.5M AAV OS for Saad from a WC team. No way the 'Hawks could have matched that, even if they had the cap space. Too many high dollar salaries with only a $71.4M cap.

Good luck to the Jackets. Saad is a damned good player. Get him a great two-way centre & quick RW and you have yourself one helluva line.

It's 2010 all over again
- BURDA13

No, it's not.

Here's why: In 2010 with the $4M+ bonus carry-over, the 'Hawks absolutely had to move larger salaries before the draft and FA. They would have been more than 10% over the cap.

This year it's different in that IMO SB knew an OS in excess of $6M AAV could be coming. Sure a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round 2016 series of picks would be nice, but it does nothing to help now.

The 'Hawks get a solid up-and-coming kid in Dano plus AA fits a 2C/3C role, can play all three zones and is good in tying up opposing defences down low below the goal line. Ain't so good at the dot but he will also be a good language caddy for the new kid from the KHL, Artemi Panarin.

SB still has a lot of work to do and some may happen even before 11AM CT. CBJ got one helluva 22-yr old in Saad, no doubt. But in the cap world with $21M next year going to the wonder twins and $6M in all likelyhood still to CC, this had to be done.

Look at it this way. This move helps pave the way for a Sea-biscuit extension.
