Benning purging out the Gillis leftovers from the organization. Which is good with me. Time for Benning to put his stamp on things.
The one I can't get past is the Sbisa thing...but whatever, I'll get over that one - LeftCoaster
Cleaning house is one thing , cleaning house properly is another thing.
Benning had a deal for SJ second round pick but opted for the Ducks second round pick instead. That pick that they acquired will probably be 20 picks lower than what the Sharks had on the table.
I knew Kassian was getting moved but to give up a draft pick for a 31 year old fourth liner. They would have been better served trading Kassian for a fourth round pick
They got older, more expensive, and gave up a pick for a fourth liner. That is pathetic.
Goalie Jones gets at 1 St round pick two days after the draft . I hope Brisboise turns out to be an NHLer.
Horrible two weeks for Benning. |

Do you think Benning is a good negotiator? - VanHockeyGuy
He negotiated himself into the job, so he's better than anyone here. |

And frequent. We went into last season saying just give Kassian one more year and now we're saying it again. There's still a chance that he figures it out and that'll hurt, but the player we traded today is only a few steps up from useless. I'm not thrilled with the return though, which I have been saying a lot lately. - CubanBuffet
Wondering if Kassian's back is really screwed up and if he will ever be able to play a full season? I thought he played well when he was healthy there before he was injured.
I hope Prust is flipped for a pick at the tdl, regardless of playoff spot or not.... unless we are in the running for the trophy, or something crazy like that. |

Kassian, similar to Lack was overrated by this fanbase but he had to be worth more than Prust. I'm really curious about these off-ice issues.
Prust is at least an expiring contract and hopefully can be flipped at the TDL for a better pick than the 5th Benning somehow had to give up. |

You can't get something that isn't available for what you have to spend.
If you go to a car dealership with 20k. And demand a new car. If you end up with a Cruise rather then a Escalade does it make you a bad negotiator? |

Every GM in the league knew Lack and Kassian were tradable so clearly their values just weren't that high. We have a case of Leaf-itis here, how can all of our players be worth a lot if we don't have a good team??? |

Let put it this way. If someone lowballs you on the car you want to sell, do you agree? |

For only 3 years though, I'd rather pay more to save giving him a 4th or 5th year. |

Ya I'm sure the rest of the league was busting down the door to get a chance to acquire Kassian |

Green was a clear upgrade, Miller not so much. Even if he was, it was slight.
I do select him to be better this year though. |

Maybe, but LeBrun reported that Kassian's been on the block since mid-season so if a team really covered him they would have made a good offer instead of hoping their offer is a little less poopty than the rest. |

Kassian didn't even play the last 1/3 of the season because of back issues and Lack was pulled in a loss to the Flames in the first round to be replaced by an injured goaltender....but ya...perception around the league should be they're worth a ton.

Benning says Kassian was too inconsistent on the ice and didn't want to get into off-ice issues but said there's a "fine line of being a pro." |
