I agree with you, Lefty but I think a 12 hour ban is far too lenient! |

Im sure Vancouver, or the team taking him could have signed him before he got traded. - pker2theend
So how much would you pay him? $4million? That's about the going rate for an average starting goalie. You want Lack + Miller at $10 next season?
Lack is a fun guy, good twitter personality, was a good goalie, I would rather have Lack then Miller, but Miller is less tradable than Luongo was.
In two years, when Miller, Markstrom, Burrows and Higgins are UFAs, Hamhuis and Bieksa are both gone, and the twins are one year away from retiring (moving on/taking way less salary to be third liners) the rebuild can finally begin. |

The 25-year-old Jones posted a 4-5-2 record in 15 games with the Kings last season, posting a .906 save percentage and a 2.25 goals-against average.
DA FAQ he gets a first rounder and a propsect while lack gets a third. Someone explain. - pker2theend

This, plus the holes in his game. I find the outrage from the majority of Canuck fans similar to Leaf fans overvaluing their players at times |

We are not having a dress rehearsal right now, we are 1/2 way through a retool with a couple drafts to go.
If management's goal remains the same, making the playoffs, as some of these contracts expire, we will surely be taking on new contracts, or re-upping with present players. JB has to have a play in place... but maybe with a poor return on some of these trades, JB's expectations will need adjusting just as much as ours. |

How do all you feel about JB and the Lack trade since today Boston trades to SJ Martin Jones for SJ's 2016 1st round pick plus prospect Sean Kuraly. Still feel like Benning was fleeced on Lack.
If Lindenning think that Markstrom was that much better than Lack or the tandem of Miller/Markstrom then why didn't they trade him to Edmonton supposedly for a higher 2nd round pick? Just like Ferraro said on 1040 if they thought Lack wasn't better then why worry about trading within the division, just take the higher pick? |

They can spew whatever malarky they like, but realistically speaking, this team is 10 years away from challenging for another cup. The twins were drafted in '99, and went to the final in 2011. They had the benefit of the West coast Express - some would argue the team should have been more competitive then. The blocks are just now being built for the next chance at competitiveness, and I don't see Horvat or Virtanen or McCann or whoever as being close to Sedin like at this point. So our "cornerstone" player(s) are still a few years away from being drafted, once the Canucks finally suck enough to get a higher pick. |

Flagged. - Marwood So Marwood, why did you flag me for asking a question on how people feel about the Lack trade now since I just posted a trade for the Martin Jones trade? Are you hurt by me asking if we're all still on board with Benning's performance on his trades?

Number One - because Benning said it's not true they were offered anything from Edmonton for Lack. Number Two - because the difference between the 66th pick and the 57th pick is negligible if you think your guy will still be there and you move Lack out of the division. |

I think ten years is a bit of a stretch, in terms of being a competitive, challenging team again. In the past three years they've had five first rounder's, including the 6th and 9th overall. Foundation pieces are being collected now, this should not be discounted!
As for the twins, no one could have predicted they'd turn out like they did after their first few years, so I'm not sure how anyone can say Bo, Jake or Jared won't be anything close to the twins...it's really an unknown.
Should the Canucks miss the playoffs the next two years, hopefully, and they win a lottery or get two top five picks with the new draft format. Things can change in a hurry, providing you have management that put emphasis on drafting and developing.
That's why patience is key. |
