Reports are just a hair under 6 million per season. - LeftCoaster

The Lucic trade was solid but trading a 22 year old top pairing dman for a bunch of hopefuls is not how to start a re-tool. - Nucker101

Burke magic. - whosyodaddy
Love how he's president of a team who threatened to offer sheet a player. Dat irony doe.
It worked out brilliantly for them though. They gave up an extra 2nd instead of the 3rd that they would have in an offer sheet, but they save millions of dollars long-term. |

Look at his numbers not even NHL caliber last season. At least lack has proven he can be a starter, not a great one but if you look at the overall body of work lacks last 2 seasons have been much better than lehner. - mauryballstein
When has Lack proven he can be a starter? He's only proven he can start games. A *proven* starter would have a season under his belt as the #1. Lack filled in for Miller's injuries. I would have to disagree with people that this does prove you are a bonified starter. It just means you can fill in during a injury.
The pressure of starting the season as #1 and actually playing 50-60 games while holding it together would be proven imo. Even Schneider didn't leave here a number 1.

@NEWS1130Sports: Been told that #Canucks ufa Brad Richardson is hitting the market tomorrow. There will be no last minute deal with Vancouver.
He'll be a good value signing for someone. Always liked him here. |

Lack has had 2 successful seasons as a back up that is all. |

Aside from his mouth I think Burke is an excellent manager. He had that one huge blunder of a Kessel deal in Toronto but aside from that his record is excellent. |

Eddie did play 41 games each of the last two seasons. 9 shy of your benchmark of a #1 goalie. Just saying. |

Yup. 10th overall. Usually means they've already talked to him or his agent so I assume this means he'll be in the QMJHL next year. I was hoping that he would get drafted more so than Lukas Jasek since there's always a chance that a late round Russian never bothers to come to North America unless he feels like he might play in the NHL and get good money. |

Who's saying that Benning is turning down 1sts? - bloatedmosquito
A number of times I've seen people point to the other trades over the last few days and suggest that Benning could have gotten more including this Jones trade. Sarcasm aside, Benning wouldn't be turning down better offers for picks for no good reason. It's one thing to rate players in proposals or trades but it is easily distinguishable which is better... a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder. Thats not up for debate.
